Peter was always happy and he absolutely loved to make anyone and everyone happy. Everyone knew that. He had even managed to make Natasha smile, which was practically impossible. So, when he met Loki and Bucky - the two most miserable people he had ever known - he saw a challenge. A challenge to make them happy, to make them smile.

And let's just say that Peter isn't one to back down from a challenge.

One lab day with Tony, he saw his perfect opportunity.
He walked out of the elevator and into the main living area only to find Bucky asleep on the couch. Peter began to grin like a maniac. He made his way over to the sleeping Bucky and picked him just to double-check that he was asleep. Bucky stirred a little in his sleep but didn't wake up. Peter bolted up to the fridge and grabbed the three most colourful and vibrant magnets he could find. Then, he stuck them on his arm and walked off in search of Loki.

Maybe I can get both down today and voila! Instant friends! Peter reasoned with himself, knowing that if he didn't then he might want to back down and he sure wasn't backing down from making people happy.

After searching the halls for a good minute or two, he finally found a door that most likely lead to Loki's room. It was littered with green decorations on the door, organised in a way that looked like vines snaking down towards the floor. Honestly, he wasn't sure how he missed it in the first place. He slowly opened the door, being careful not to make a sound, and walked inside. Loki whipped his head around to look at the uninvited visitor that had come into his room.

Peter shyly looked up at Loki and smiled innocently. He reached into the pocket of his hoodie and took a tentative step forwards and into the room, towards Loki. "Hi Mr Loki, sir," Peter started nervously. Loki raised an eyebrow and tilted his head to the side in an inviting manner.

"Yes, well... I, um, I-I," Peter stuttered. He cleared his throat and took a shaky breath. "I wanted to give you something." He then pulled out what was concealed inside his pocket: a badge. It had a white background and, in green font, it had written on it "Be a pineapple: stand tall, wear a crown, and be sweet on the inside" with a little smiling pineapple beside it.

"I saw this in a store and I immediately thought of you." Loki looked up, wide-eyed. Nobody had ever gone out of their way to do something as small as to buy a badge for him. Apparently, though, he had appeared shocked for too long and Peter took it the wrong way. "You don't have to wear it if you don't like it or anything. I just thought that you might like it."

Loki smiled. It was small but Peter swore that it lit up the room. Then, Peter saw Loki put the badge on the shirt that he was wearing. "I like it, young one. I truely do."
At this, Peter smiled and Loki swore that he could see the room become visibly brighter.

Bucky awoke to the sound of pots and pans banging around, accompanied by chattering. He groaned and sat up, bringing his right hand to wipe his face. He looked down at his metal hand and saw it covered in magnets. He groaned, mentally preparing himself to kill whoever did this.

He walked into the kitchen and held up his arm. "Who did this?" Everyone looked around, wondering who would be foolish enough to get themselves killed.
Peter then shakily held up his hand and took a step forwards towards Bucky.

"I did Mr Barnes Winter Soldier White Wolf, sir. I thought that it would be nice to give your arm a meaning to it other than war and violence. Sorry" he spoke shyly, afraid that something might happen. Then, something did happen. He smiled. The Bucky Barnes smiled.

"I like it, kid. Thank you."

After that, it was common to see Loki with a badge on or with Bucky covered with magnets and stickers. After that, they all knew that they were able to smile.

After that, Peter's challenge was complete.
