In The End

Some of you might not like this band and some of you might not even know who this band is. Even so, I recommend listening to the song above. It's really good. Linkin Park is personally my favourite band and their legacy lives forever.

Peter and Tony were in the lab together, working on fixing some gimmicks and gadgets for the team. Tony had some music playing through the speakers but asked Friday to turn it down once he saw Peter with his headphones on, humming along to the song that was playing. Tony walked through the mess in the lab and when he made it to his table, he tapped Peter on the shoulder to get his attention. Peter jumped slightly then paused the song and took his headphones off.

"Hey Pete," he started. "Whatcha listening to bud?"
"Only the best band in history."
"What, Metallica? AC/DC?"
Peter gave Tony a face and shook his head. "No, obviously not. How are they the best bands?"

Tony gave Peter a look of hurt and held his hand above his heart. "Your words wound me Peter. How are they not the best?" Peter rolled his eyes and shook his head playfully. "Okay then," Tony started. "What is the best band?"
"Linkin Park, obviously." Tony gave Peter a confused look and Peter gasped. "Do you not know who Linkin Park is?"

Tony shook his head and Peter held his hand to his heart. "Now you are the one who has wounded me. MJ and I listen to Linkin Park together all of the time. They are the best. Friday, can you play..." he paused to think of one that Tony might like. "Friday can you play In The End by Linkin Park on the speakers please."

The song started and throughout the song, Peter sang along and mouthed the words to the rapping parts. Tony stood there listening to the song and the weight that it seemed to carry with it. When the song finished, Peter stood facing Tony with a look in his eyes. Tony couldn't exactly pinpoint what that look was but nonetheless he smiled at the kid.

"Friday, put the song on again please." The song played again and Tony and Peter began to sing to the song, working together on the gadgets that they still had to fix.

What neither of them realised, though, was that Pepper was standing at the door watching them both working together while singing to the song. "Friday," she whispered, willing not to be caught by the two. "Take some videos and photos of those two and send them to me please."

After watching the two for another minute, Pepper walked away from the duo and she felt the side of her mouth twitch up to form a smile. She came around to watch them in the lab much more often after that and would sometimes hear them singing together while working. Or maybe just singing. Still, she loved it and got so many good photos from Friday every now and again.
