The Hera
Chapter 14
Frolicking in the Water
~~Araya's P.O.V~~
I wander back to the company only to be met but 13 half-naked dwarves and a very self-conscious halfling. I giggle to myself watching Bilbo attempt to cover himself with his hands.
"Araya will you be joining us?" I hear Kili shout raising an eyebrow with a smirk plastered on his face. That earned him a shove from his brother and a punch in the arm from his uncle. I giggled.
"I don't think that would be entirely appropriate Kili" I say as I walk to the water's edge. I raised my hand and I saw the horror in Kili's eyes. He knew what was coming. A ball of water flew into the air and fell on Kili. Everyone including the young dwarf laughed. Kili started to swim towards me once he got close enough, he splashed me. I smirked before splashing him back with another ball of water and soon enough the others had all joined in our water fight, they all begun dunking each other under the water. I was laughing and joining in from the water's edge trying not to get wet. My eyes widened when I suddenly felt someone jump on my back and push me into and under the water. Once I resurfaced, I turned around and saw Fili grinning at me proudly. I rolled my eyes and started to swim back towards the water's edge.
"Oh come on Araya, you started the fight." Kili whined. I stood up and removed my boots, corset and all my weapons to avoid further water damage. I jumped back into the water and smirked at the dwarves in front of me. Thorin and Balin look at me and then their eyes go wide. They knew exactly what was about to happen. I curled my fingers around in the water and a blue mist appeared. All of a sudden tentacle-like shapes burst from the water splashing and grabbing the dwarves dunking them all under the water. I giggle as I draw back the mist and the water falls back in the river.
I grinned at Thorin as I waded in the water, he smirked and began swimming towards me. My eyes widen and before I could turn swim away he wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me closer to him. I began to squirm, and he laughed at me as I tried to move but he kept a firm grip on my waist.
"Thorin! let me go!" I said as I giggled.
"No, not until you apologise for dunking us under the water" He spoke with smirk on his face.
"Oh, come on it was funny" I said as I turned my arm so that I was facing him.
"So is this" he said grinning at me. He leaned in and placed a chaste kiss on my lips and then smiled at me as I rested my forehead against his.
"Will you to get a room or something?" yelled Fili and Kili as they splashed Thorin and I causing us jump apart slightly.
"If you don't want to see it, then don't watch" I said as I splashed him back. I smiled back at Thorin and kissed him on the cheek before I swam towards the shallow water to wash the dirt off myself. I grinned to myself as Thorin swam back towards the others.
After a few moments I climbed out of the lake Ann lay down the grass to allow the sun to dry me in my clothes I looked to my right as I felt someone lay down beside me, I smiled at Thorin and intertwined my fingers with his as we just stared up at the sky in a comfortable silence.
"What have you been up to all this time?" Thorin broke the silence between us. He looked at me concerned. A lump forms in my throat as reflect on the time that has passed since I last saw Thorin.
"I've just been traveling. I returned to Mirkwood. I was there for a while until Thranduil asked me to leave. I travelled all across middle earth." I look away. Many things happened during my travels and many of which I don't want to dwell in nor to I want Thorin to know.
"Why didn't you come back to us? Surely you heard of the battle in Moria." Thorin said with sad eyes. Anger ingulfed me. Is he serious?
"You told me you never wanted to see me again. You made it clear that if I were to return you would lock me up and have me killed. When I heard about Moria I was heartbroken. I never got to say goodbye to my own father. I knew I was probably the last person you wanted to see, if you were still alive and so I grieved on my own. One day I was travelling through the Blue mountains, I bumped into Balin and I found out was happened. He told me you were alive. I was relieved. He tried to get me to come back but I was on a mission of my own so I told him not mention me to you but to take care of you. The look on your face says he stayed true to his word." I say with annoyance lining my word. The stupidity of dwarves. He looks stunned and then grabs me and pulls me closer to him.
"Araya, I am sorry. I will never stop being sorry for the way I tried you in the past. I love you more then life itself. You are my everything and I thank the stars that I found you again." He looks into my eyes and smiles. This man drives me insane. I swear to Durin, he will be the death of me. We both in and our lips meet. He pulls me onto him and I'm straddling his waist. Our little make out session was interrupted by a very embarrassed hobbit calling us to re-join the company. Thorin and I look at each other and giggle.
