The Hera

Chapter 9

Thunder Battle. Between Giants and Dwarves.

I was awoken by a soft tap on my shoulder I rolled over to find Ori standing shyly beside me. I look around and see it was still rather dark outside. Who in the name of Durin would be awake this early and why? I groaned and looked at Ori with an emotionless face. Ori moved away a little and I can only assume that's because he is afraid of me... Oops.

"Morning Ori, how are you? Why are you up so early?" I say trying not to sound grumpy or menacing as I have noticed Ori has a tendency to be a little timid.

"Good Morning Lady Sliverstar, I'm sorry to wake you but Thorin has asked me to come get you as we are leaving. Gandalf suggested before the sun rises so that we won't be caught." He says timidly smiling.

"Thank you, Ori. I'll see you all soon don't worry. Also, I'm sorry if I frightened you. I had no intension to do so." I smile, and he chuckles and shyly walks to the door blushing a little. He is so sweet.

I got out of bed and used my magic to make it. Then I walked over to my wash bowl and washed my face, neck and arms. I got changed and into a pair of black leather breeches, my black knee-high boots that sliver buckles on them and dark blue elvish shirt, topped with a black corset on top. I grabbed my fingerless leather gloves and leather wrist guards and put them on. I then brushed my hair and braided it into two braids parting at then middle, which ends just above my lower back. I fasten all my weaponry to my belt and strapped my bow and quiver to my back and then I concealed the rest of my daggers underneath my clothes, I grabbed my cloak and put it in my bag before I slung my bag over my shoulder and left the room.

I quietly walked down the corridors and down the numerous stairs until I arrived at a small courtyard where a group of dwarves and a hobbit sat waiting for me. I looked around but couldn't see Thorin nor Gandalf. I wonder where they are? I go to ask and Thorin suddenly appears and clears his throat then starts walking.

I walked between Balin and Dwalin as we followed quietly behind the others. We walked back the way came into Rivendale until we reached the gate separated Rivendale from the rest Middle Earth. I look back at Rivendale and bow my head, as a sign of peace and respect. I turn to continue on with the others. I hate having to leave so soon, after all that place had been my home for so long.

"Be on your guard! We are about to step over into the wild. Balin you are aware of how these paths work. Lead the way!" said Thorin who stopped and turned around to Balin, causing others to copy. Balin signed and walked out the front of us all. From that point we walked in a single file line. Like children playing follow the leader. I mean some of us are children *cough* Thorin *cough* but that's just a personal opinion.

"Master Baggins! I suggest you keep up!" Said Thorin who had turned around to see Bilbo standing still as he looked back over Rivendale. Wonder filled his eyes. I remember that feeling from the first I saw the great Elven Kingdom. So peaceful, so graceful yet so strong and mighty. Bilbo nodded at Thorin before he began to follow behind Dori.

I was slightly worried about the next part of our journey as it took us through the Misty Mountains. Last time I ventured this way I was kidnapped by a pack of goblin and taken to the Goblin City. Let me just it was disgusting. Goblins smell, really bad, like, really, really bad. I was taken to the Goblin King who is as disgusting as he smells, which is pretty damn nasty. Goblins love a good torture and for a very long time I was the one being tortured. If it weren't for the pure stupidity of the two useless guards that were supposed to be guarding my cell the night I escaped, I would probably still be there now. It slightly terrifies the living daylights out of me knowing that any moment we could be attacked and taken prisoner by those filthy creatures. I mean the Goblin King would be fuming when he saw me and what in Durin's name would he do to Thorin. It's common knowledge that Goblins don't like dwarves and Thorin is the King Under the Mountain. The Goblin King would take great pleasure in removing his head from his shoulders. And if he found out about myself and Thorin, there would be hell to pay. I can' lose Thorin not again.
