Chapter 10: Surprises

A/N: Hey guys, sorry for interrupting the reading haha. But Just here to let you guys know that I would be starting school on the 28th January and probably would not update as much. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that this story is a little more to Onew because supposedly, it was only suppose to be his fanfic but there was a tun of events and I thought this might be even better. Onew's POV

I could not believe after just a small performance, the president has that similar look on his face when he saw us before our debut. While we were standing beside him as he wanted to see what my childhood friend looked like he tagged along with us just in time to watch her last performance. Actually I was so surprised that she could sing that well. She practically was good, great, whatever you would call her. I didn't even see this side of her when I was a small. I walked towards the big grey two-door room of the President's as he requested to see me. 

"Sajangnim(President)?" I knocked and asked before entering.

He was sitiing on his black sleek swivel chair as he was sorting out some papers with the Secretary Kim. I looked around as he asked for a moment to finalize some documents that I wouldn't want to know. With just a slight glance at one of the papers, I saw Kae Jung's name. 

Boya(What is this)...?

I decided to asked casually as he straightened the papers. 

"Chogi(excuse me) sir, why is Kae Jung's name there?" I asked him as he only smiled. 

Sometimes I think he is a little like the Dream High Principal, the one who always believed in one's potential once he sees it. 

"Ahh, batta(that's right). I was going to ask her to come here but I thought it would be much more comfortable for her if you were to tell her... that she has a chance of debuting as a solo." he said, grinning brightly as he looked at my face, clearly amused. 

"JINJJA(REALLY)?? Omo... Daebak(Awesome). Domu kamsahamnidah sajangnim(Thank you very much, sir)! I'll tell her right away." I said excitedly as I literally ran to her workplace which was the cafe. 

I went cautiously there, in order to not grab attention and signalled her to meet outside. as soon as she went out the door I pulled her into a massive hug. 

"YAHHH(HEYY)!! Sajangnim(President) wants to sign a contract with you!!" I said to her as she tilt her head slightly and raised her brows. 

"Moraguyo(What did you say)?" she asked, having that dreaming face. 

"You have a chance of debuting as a solo artiste!! I'm so happy for you!! Kaja(let's go)!!" I said as I literally pulled her when she pulled me back to stop. 

"Boya(What is this)... Sajangnim(President)... SM Entertainment... WANTS TO RECRUIT ME!?!" she shouted as I laughed. 

"Chongmalyo(Are you serious?)" she asked again as she quickly removed her apron and told her manager to cover for her.

We went to the SM building almost taking only 5 minutes as we were super excited. It certainly felt like the old times when we saw our idols before I debuted. Then I realised we were holding hands as I pulled her with me to the President's room. Once we entered, we let go of our hands naturally as we greeted the smiley President. 

"Welcome, I am pleased to meet you, Kae Jung-sshi." he said as he shook her slender fingers.

 “Ah, nae(yes), me too…” Kae Jung replied nervously.

The President talked about the terms and conditions and all the necessary things for the contract. She only diligently filled up the information and signed at the end. She was smiling all the way when we left the room.

“I can’t believe it… Onew-sshi, outokke(How)…?” she asked me, finally realizing that I hadn’t told her about how the president knows about her.

“Remember when we arrived just in time for your last performance? Apparently our President tagged along with us to see the party. After you finished singing your song, he had that thinking face and all of us knew him well that he thinks you had the potential.” I explained to her as her surprised face resurfaced.

I couldn’t help myself but to pinch her pale cheeks.

“Aigooo… uri(our) Kae Jung is going to debut… I’m so proud of you!” I said as she tried to fight back.

We smiled and laughed until the other boys came to us.

“Yahh(Hey)… We heard you’re going to debut! Chukahamnidah(congratulations)!” the boys said. Taking turns to hug her.

We went out to get a few drinks to celebrate with her along with some doukbokki which was her favourite.

Kae Jung’s POV

We had a few drinks and had to limit ourselves as we didn’t want anyone to get drunk during the celebration. I couldn’t believe that I had the chance by SM Entertainment to debut as a SOLO ARTISTE. As I was walking home, I realized that I forgot my bag in SHINee’s van. Just as I turned, I saw a dark silhouette running towards me.

“Kae Jung-ah! Non kaba(Your bag)!” in an instant I recognized Onew’s voice.

As he came closer to me, running, I watched him closely. His sleek hazel hair flying all over the place as he went against the cold breeze, his black coat wrapping warmly around him as he breathed heavily, making puffs of warm air visible. Once he reached at me, he passed me my pink tote bag as I reached for it. We looked at each other for a while as I avert my gaze to the sky.

“Wah… So many stars… Neomu yeoppo( So beautiful)… Kutji(Right)?” I asked him as he jumped on the front part of his foot due to the coldness.

“Orh(yeah). You should go in.” He said.

“Ah, Kae Jung-ah,” just as I turned, he hugged me tightly as he whispered, “Congratulations… Do your best, If you need any help, I’m here for you.”

“Nae(yes)…” was all I could think of. I went in as I gave him one final wave.
