Kae Jung’s POV
I had this sudden uncomfortable feeling when I was just about to start practicing. I heard Onew’s voice shouting Key’s name. I went outside only to find Key dashing through the door right in front of my eyes. Wind blew right onto my face due to his running speed. I ran towards the rest immediately, concerned about Key.
“Oppa, what happened?” I asked the worried-looking Onew.
“Mullayo(I don’t know either)… He received a phone call and he dashed out before we could even ask who it was.” He said as the rest of the members wore worried faces as well.
I wondered what happened but whatever it was, I hope it was going to be alright again. We waited for key until it was already in the wee hours. I looked at the clock which showed me that it was already 2am in the morning. We were tired but nothing was better than seeing Key back here again right in front of our eyes. I sighed as I went to the piano to start playing random chords again. While I got a few nice chords that filled in perfectly, I hummed as I thought of my friendship with Key, even if we weren’t really that close. Then Taemin joined in to harmonize along with me. I turned to him as we smiled gently. Soon Onew and Jong Hyun also joined in with a few words as lyrics and apparently, everyone was expressing how Key was important to each and every one of us, singing to all the memories and treasuring their friendship a lot. We ended up making a song for Key, hoping that Key would come back soon so that he would be able to hear it.
It was nearing dawn already and key was nowhere near us. I looked at the clock as we tried stretching. I got up and decided to go to the café to get some coffee. I walked with a heavy head as I saw Sae Ra in front of me, looking at me weirdly.
“Yah(Hey), Kae Jung ah, wae gu rae( What’s wrong)?” She held my shoulders as she faced me.
We went inside the café as I explained what happened last night that Key suddenly just disappeared just like that. Sae Ra’s expression seemed much more serious than ours and I knew that she really likes Key and looking at her face, she seemed really worried.
“S-Sae Ra-ya… breathe, I’m sure Key is fine.” I said, trying desperately to calm my friend.
I made coffees for SHINee members and also ours. I was worried for Sae Ra, but she told me she would be fine. I left back to the SM building and then I saw someone who looked so familiar from the back and I was shocked to see him getting away from a group of paparazzi who blocked the main entrance to the building. There was another way of getting into the building but only those who worked there would know, and Key was one of them. I followed him stealthily along with the coffees. Then when it was quiet, I could only hear the breathing of both of us. Suddenly he stopped walking and sighed.
“I know you’re there, Kae Jung-ah.” Then he turned and his facial expressions were those who had not slept for days. I smiled half-heartedly, letting out a little laugh as he smiled.
“Oppa, non guenchana(are you okay)? Busunidiya(what happened)?” I asked as I came closer to him.
He suddenly just remained quiet and looked down.
“I’ll tell everyone at once rather than now, kaja(let’s go).” He said as we walked.
“Have some coffee at least, you don’t look good.” I passed him the coffee I made.
“Komowoyo(Thanks).” He smiled.
Sae Ra’s POV
Things were not really going well for me. My family is getting poorer and poorer and my dreams yet to be achieved. I wanted to become an actress but there I was sitting by the stationary shop windows, sighing as I thought about what could have possibly happen to Key. Soon, seconds turn to hours, hours turn to days, and I still hadn’t gotten any news from Kae Jung about Key. I was getting worried like crazy yet, the world doesn’t seem to care at all. I gathered up the courage to see Kae Jung and maybe Key too, after all these while. When I went up to the receptionist, I ran into someone familiar. He was tall, still had that dark brownish hair that I admired.
“Oh! Sae Ra-sshi?” that deep voice called out.
“Its good to see that you’re doing okay, Ki Bum-sshi…” I said as I bowed slightly to him, even though we were at the same age.
Then I saw Kae Jung coming out towards us. She immediately hugged me tightly.
“Yah(hey)… What are you doing here?” she asked.
“I was worried what happened to Key, but it seems that everything is fine now.” I said as I looked at everyone smiling.
I was glad that everything was fine, now what’s left was just to improve my family’s financial needs. I looked around when Key suddenly came to my side.
“Sae Ra-sshi, you should try auditioning for that drama series. I wish you all the best and hope you’ll succeed in it.” He smiled at me, I held onto his arm when he was about to walk away.
“Waeyo(why)?” I asked out of curiosity.
“I know about your situation, so try that out, who knows, maybe you have a hidden talent.” He smiled sincerely as he patted my head.
I watched him walk away to the lift lobby until the last of him disappeared. I stood there clueless. I looked at the poster and they were looking for someone to be the actress in a new drama. I thought that maybe it was not a bad idea since I loved and always longed to work in the entertainment industry.
Key’s POV
She seems to always hide her problems away but this time, maybe she should not hide them anymore, at least not from me. My sister was still in a coma, everyone knew about my situation and when Kae Jung told me that she was going to tell Sae Ra, something in me didn’t want her to know my situation. I’ve always watched her ever since she didn’t see me as a celebrity. Something about her was different, even as a human. Kae Jung was her only friend and her house seem to be a very quiet place too. It was dangerous for her, yet she worked hard just to support her family. Her father abandoned them and her mother was stubborn even when she knew that she had no money, gambling all the allowances that were given to her by Sae Ra. I sighed as I hear Sae Ra’s life story from Kae Jung. She even had to pay for her two younger siblings that were still schooling. They were only 9 years old. I know what she is going through, having no one in your family supporting you. You're alone, bearing every single sin that anyone in your family may be doing.
