Dream POV
Dream woke to a find himself in a warm embrace. His body was pressed against George's, and he felt the weight of the brunette's head resting against his. George's arms were still wrapped tightly around him, Dream's own hands clutching George's light blue sweater.
Dream felt his face go bright red, but he was comfortable. His chest felt warm when he remembered George's comforting words and sincere promise to stay with him. He'd been so scared of George abandoning him, he felt as though his whole world was crumbling down.
Dream relaxed against George, knowing something like this was rare.
Dream's my best friend.
The words stung Dream as he recalled how easy George said them. It wasn't like he could correct the brunette, because they really were just friends. Even if Dream wished they were more. The words hurt more when Dream still held the secret of their past friendship.
Shifting slightly, he noticed George beginning to stir. No. Dream thought. Don't wake up yet. Stay like this a little longer.
George's head lifted off Dream's, and Dream held still. He was unsure of the brunette's reaction to their cuddling, but his worries melted when George ran his fingers through Dream's dirty blond hair.
"I know you're awake, Dream."
Sheepishly, Dream sat up. "Ah... good morning Princess Georgie."
He was surprised to see the clouded look on George's face, almost as if the brunette's mind was elsewhere. He was just opening his mouth to ask what was wrong when an obnoxiously loud voice tore through the silence.
"WILBUR WHAT THE FUCK?!"
Dream groaned. He'd forgotten about their visitors. He really didn't want them here, but he had to behave himself for George's sake.
"Sounds like Tommy's awake." The corner of George's mouth was twitching.
"I'm telling you, Georgie, the child has rabies. We should put him down before its too late."
George laughed and shoved him. The brunette stood and headed for the door. Dream grumbled under his breath as he followed. When they entered the main room, the blond boy in a white t-shirt with red sleeves was yelling at his exhausted-looking brother.
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU DON'T HAVE MY WEAPONS?"
"You were the one that dropped them. I was looking for them when you started screaming for me to come here." Wilbur sighed.
"HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO IMPRESS THE WOMEN WITHOUT MY-"
"Is there a problem?" George interrupted.
Both siblings turned to face them. Wilbur at least had the decency to look guilty for the noise. Tommy, on the other hand, flung his hands up. "Will left my weapons in the woods!"
"You mean you left your weapons in the woods?" George brushed his sleep-ruffled hair out of his eyes.
"Exactly that." Wilbur agreed.
Before Tommy could retort, George brought his hands up. "We'll take you guys to find them later. Just relax."
We will? Dream glanced at George. If George noticed he clearly ignored him.
A loud screech made all of them flinch. George edged closer to Dream. "What was that?"
"Storms attract monsters," Dream spoke for the first time.
