George POV
Dream's body warmed George's as he slept.
"Look at me!" A winged male splayed his wings as he balanced on a rock just barely large enough to hold one of his feet. A glistening stream rushed around him, full of colorful coral-like stones and glowing little rainbow-colored fish.
"You're going to fall." A second, much smaller, male was standing at the bank, shaking his head. "Don't think I'll help you when you fall, either."
The winged male seemed to grin, but it was concealed by the white mask with XD etched on the front, covering his face. "I'd just pull you down with me."
"Do that and I will drown you."
"No you wouldn't." Sounding amused, the winged man jumped onto another stone even smaller than the previous one. He was wearing a tight black long-sleeve shirt with gaps on his shoulders and the sides of his waist, showing off his muscular body. The fabric of the sleeves extended and covered the middle finger of both hands. Sashes of slightly transparent, light green silk wrapped his hips, adding a pop of color to his equally black pants. His usual green cloak was hanging on a branch on the other side of the stream, a pair of knee-high boots abandoned beneath the tree.
"You're an idiot." The smaller male adjusted his red-and-white sun hat made from a giant mushroom.
The winged male grinned sneakily, purposefully missing his next leap. As he did so, he flung out his right wing, wrapping the smaller male in soft white feathers.
"Stop-" The smaller man's voice was cut off as he toppled into the water, landing on top of the winged man. His mushroom hat flew off, landing on a stone.
The water was shallow, only about six inches, but the splash from their impact soaked both of them.
"What is wrong with you?" He sat up, legs straddling the winged man's hips. Propping two hands on the wet black fabric of the other man's shirt, he glared down.
The X-shaped halos around the winged man's dirty blond hair glowed brighter as he laughed. He lifted a hand adorned with golden rings connected by tiny chains. Gently ruffling the dark brown hair of the other man, he gazed into a pair of beautiful heterochromatic eyes.
The owner of those eyes ducked his head and grabbed the slender hand ruining his once-neat hair. "Stop that."
"But your hair looks so pretty now."
"I don't care." Flushed cheeks hinted otherwise.
"I'll let you wear my cloak." The winged man reassured, gesturing to the smaller man's sopping attire.
The white-speckled red cape clasped with a sapphire stone was darkened with water. The tiny mushrooms growing out of the shoulders of the cape glistened with water droplets. Blinking his one brown and one blue eye down at the winged man, he muttered, "You're so annoying."
"And I know you love it."
George's eyes flew open, the sound of familiar laughter still ringing in his ears.
It was them again. The "him" in the previous nightmare was alive this time, and the winged man seemed happy. They both did.
George's heart thudded, and he felt Dream shift against him. He could tell from Dream's breathing that Dream was awake, laying peacefully in his arms.
