This chapter explains what happened in chapter 34. Now you'll see why Tommy blamed himself so badly.

WilburSoot POV

Thunder rumbled ominously, flashes of light blazing across the sky. Dark, thick storm clouds laid above the dying trees, blanketing the world in gloomy warning. The air itself was thick, holding a weight over the smallest of breaths. It was almost as if the environment was trying to warn them of tragedy to come.

"Where are you going?" Wilbur gazed into his father's grey-blue eyes, finding the worry hidden deep inside.

"To find Tubbo and Ranboo." Philza pressed a reassuring hand over his son's shoulder. "I don't want those boys alone, I'm bringing them to stay with us. I won't be gone long."

Wilbur frowned. Techno had left to speak to DreamXD, seeking help to root out the cause of the mysterious changes in their world. Wilbur wasn't entirely sure the god of mischief would be willing to help, what with the way he never left his husband's side, but they could only hope.

Mumza had left to lend a hand with fixing flooding damage in several areas after Nihachu's passing. He was relieved Philza would be bringing Tubbo and Ranboo home safe, but now it was only him and Tommy...

Lightning flashed, and Wilbur winced when the thunder boomed barely a second later.

"Go inside." Philza forced a smile before turning away. "I should go before it rains, take care of your brother."

"I will." Wilbur didn't move, just watched his father open wide black wings, flying gracefully away.

He turned his gaze towards the house, nerves gnawing at his stomach. Tommy hadn't taken the death of Nikki very well, and Wilbur didn't know how to help him. He just wanted his happy, loud brother back, as obnoxious as he was.

Wilbur sighed, his boots squelching in the mud as he made his way back to the house. He couldn't stay outside for much longer, who knew what sort of monster would choose him as its next meal. They'd learned the hard way storms attracted those grotesque creatures.

Looming in front of him was a massive home made from sleek, polished wood and pillars of pale bricks. Orange lights hung from arches, and wide windows were fogged with humidity. The second floor had a massive balcony wrapping the entire top floor. Their house was likely the most "normal" out of all the gods, though it still held an aura of wealth.

Wilbur stomped his boots on the doormat, struggling to shake off most of the clumps of soggy earth before quietly twisting the handle. Upon entering the house, the first thing he noticed was an orange wing peeking out from above the couch.

Their living room was breathtaking, orange-brown hardwood floors, crisp pale gray walls, chandeliers, and a gold-trimmed brown couch with two fluffy white pillows.

"Tommy." WilburSoot approached the couch, leaning over it to see the blond young god sprawled there.

"What?" Tommyinnit opened one blue eye, giving his brother an annoyed look.

"Just making sure you're alive." Wilbur leaned against the back of the couch. "Father went to get Ranboo and Tubbo."

Tommy sat up at that. "Why didn't he tell me? I want to go!"

"It's too dangerous." Wilbur reminded him. "You can't, and he already left."

"I would have been able to go if you'd told me sooner." Tommy accused, blue eyes narrowing.

WilburSoot didn't share any similarities with his brother's appearance, instead featuring dark hazel eyes, brown feathered wings, and fluffy brown hair.
