"And you're sure he was checking you out?" Yua said rather loudly.
"Shhhh, Yua! Not so loud!...but yeah I'm sure!" You smile smugly, checking out your nails. "I know men well enough to know he wasn't looking at my hair or blouse." You say confidently. Yua was shuffling some papers on her desk. She was the main office secretary so she was Principal Nezu's main line of communication, through all means, letter, phone calls, you name it.
"So are you going to do anything about it?" She says, still organizing her desk. You stop looking at your nails and look at her.
"What?"
"Are you going to do anything about him looking at your butt? The man is still single, you know.." Yua knew EVERYONES business. How? Hell if you knew, but she somehow has the down low on every staff member and parent. Particularly the single, male ones.
"Well, no. I just thought it was funny that he was looking at my butt."
"You feel like you don't have a chance with him, huh?" She stares deadpan at you.
"Ugh you know me so well." You put your head on the counter in front of her. There was no point in hiding it from her, there was no way Mr. Aizawa would be into you. You're too...sociable.
"I think it would be cute. You're both badass and you both have the same..aesthetic." She waves her hand up and down at you then pops a stick of gum in her mouth.
"Just because not everyone is as fabulous and high maintenance as you doesn't mean we all have the same aesthetic, Yuuaa." You tease. She was always dressed to impress. Today she had a bright pink dress, big hair, and long nails that matched. Her style was much more eccentric than yours. You usually stuck to fitted dress pants and simple colored blouses. If you were feeling yourself one day, you'd switch it up with a dress or skirt, but those were pretty simple too, never as loud and frilly as some of Yua's outfits.
"That's not what I meant! Although, I bet if I looked in your closet, you'd have a whole section dedicated to black that'll make Aizawa's mouth water." You shake your head and laugh.
"I don't even know what that means but ok."
"Look, what I meant was that you both are super chill and laidback. The students and staff respect and like you and y'all are both are really easygoing. It's a match made in heaven." You chew on her words for a bit, trying to make sense of what she said.
"I mean, suppose you're right..I don't know how I'd feel about dating a coworker. That usually never ends well." Yua rolls her eyes and starts typing something on her computer. She's been doing work the entire time you've been talking, she's quite the amazing multitasker.
"I think it would work out but what do I know, right? I don't have any fancy degrees or anything, I'm just the secretary." She looks up at you over her glasses.
"Don't be like that, considering you've never been wrong about this kind of stuff, I don't doubt you. I doubt myself more than anything." You didn't have a very good track record when it came to dating, so you didn't have very high hopes. The final bell rings so you straighten out the sign-in binder and pen you tend to mess with whenever you came to talk to Yua.
"Welp, that's my cue, I gotta get going to my afternoon post." You adjust your blouse a bit and make your way out.
"Alright, see you later. Before you leave, remember to send your report to Nezu."
Shoot, you forgot to write that. You'd been busy walking around trying to entertain yourself.
"I will, see you in a bit!"
Afternoon post was pretty much the same as in the morning. You waved goodbye to the last of the students leaving and head back to your office to fill out your report for Principal Nezu.
The 'report' is a detailed summary of any time you used your quirk on a student. Principal Nezu then emails the parents of the students informing them of the situation and assures them that you followed protocol to the letter. Most parents either ignore the email all together or call with a few small concerns, but there are some that completely go berserk and come to the school to investigate. In that case, you sit down with the principal, parents, student, and teacher and go over the details of the incident. You've had 2 lawsuits filed against you in your time there at UA, but thankfully the school backed you up and you won both cases.
"Alright," you say out loud as you submit the reports. You stretch a bit and start packing your things. You doubt Yua is still here, but you poke your head around the corner to check anyway.
Nope, not here..
"Welp, guess I'm walking to my car alone" you grab your things and lock your door. Your footsteps echo in the empty halls as you walk through to the entrance.
"[y/n], hey." You turn to see a very tired Aizawa headed in your direction.
"Hey there, Shouta. Long day?"
"You know it. I thought I was the only one still here"
"Oh, nah. I had to submit my report to Nezu before I left. Nothing too crazy today, just one incident with a student who's quirk activated while they fell asleep." You suddenly became hyper aware of how you looked, slightly adjusting your blouse and smoothing your hair.
"I heard. I wasn't anywhere close enough to be of any help, sorry about that."
"Nah, don't worry about it. I was able to get it under control all by myself." You smile at him. He chuckles.
"Well that's good. Maybe they won't need me for anything anymore. I can just teach my class and go home." He joked wishfully.
"Don't say that! Who will I call on when I need help?"
"Any of the other teachers? All Might?" You tried your best to keep your smile from fading.
"But I want you to help.." you say quietly. He suddenly puts two and two together and realizes that you were lightly flirting with him and clears his throat.
"Well, uh, good thing I'm not going anywhere then.." Your cheeks heat up from embarrassment, choosing to pretend like that didn't just happen.
"Yeah! Good thing!" You smile, walking up to your car. "This is me, thanks for walking with me." He takes the cue a little quicker now and goes along with the whole 'pretend you didn't just try to flirt with him' thing.
"Sure thing, see you tomorrow." He waves as he walks away.
You get in your car and slump down, putting your head on your steering wheel. "But I want you to help? What was I thinking??" You threw your hands up and was startled with the sound of Aizawa beeping his car horn on his way out. You wave awkwardly and wait for him to pull out before putting your hands in your face and groaning loudly in frustration.
"This is why I don't have a boyfriend and this is why I don't take advice from Yua." You mutter under your breath as you start your car and pull out.
You usually use the first day of school to try and guess how the rest of the year was gonna go. Overall the day went as well as any first day of class would. If only you know what the rest of the school year had in store for you..
