Everyone got a couple days off because of the incident. You spent those days just laying around your house, occasionally calling to check up on Aizawa and Thirteen, and allowing yourself to deal with this emotionally so you could be strong for the teachers and students that will be leaning on you for their emotional needs.
The next morning after the slight break, you drag yourself out of bed, head still pounding from a combination of using your quirk at such a large scale and crying until you couldn't anymore. You usually kept your work outfits pretty casual, normally just dress pants or nice jeans and a blouse, but today you decided to dress down even more. You dig in your drawers for your leggings, pairing them with a looser fitting shirt and a sweater in case you get cold in the building. It's probably the most dressed down you'll ever be at work, but at this point you don't even care. Once you get to the school, you were pleasantly surprised to see Yua typing away at her computer.
"Yua? What are you doing here??"
"I decided I couldn't wait a week to come back. After what happened, I realized just how much I love this school and my job and if anyone is going to try and scare me from going to work, well, the have another thing coming." You smile, it's only been a couple days but you missed your friend dearly.
"Oh. Also, I wanted to see your face when I gave you these." She gives you a playful smile and puts three gift baskets on the table. "The biggest one is from All Might, the medium sized one is from Principal Nezu and the school, and this smaller one-" She pauses and leans on her desk, folding her hands under her chin"-is from Mr Aizawa."
"What? Why would he send me a basket?"
"I dunno but he left a noooteee!" She sings the last word and you gently pick the note off the top of the gift basket.
'I heard you were brave, too. The school is lucky to have you'
You read the note over and over with a small smile and heat rushing to your cheeks. He mimicked what you said to him at the hospital last night. So he was conscious.
"What did he say??" Yua was practically bouncing in her seat.
"It was something I said to him in the hospital." Your smile quickly faded when it hit you. "Oh god, Yua.." You hit your hand to your face in sheer embarrassment.
"What? What???"
"If he was conscious enough to hear what I said then he was conscious enough to feel that I kissed his forehead." She bursts out laughing, nearly falling out her seat.
"Well you two can discuss that later because he's coming in today." You peak through you fingers.
"What do you mean?"
"He said he wasn't going to take his leave. He's all bandaged up, but he came in this morning and said he was going to continue teaching-" She was wiping her tears from laughing and adjusted her glasses, "-if you ask me, I think it's a dumb idea, but he insisted on staying." You were no stranger to stubbornness, you were quite the stubborn person yourself, but this was on a whole other level.
"And Nezu is ok with this?"
"Yeah, apparently he said it was ok as long as Aizawa wasn't straining himself." You rolled your eyes.
"That's the dumbest thing I ever heard." You grab the gift baskets and set them on the floor in your office. You have to remember to thank everyone for them later.
"You know guys like that, always have something to prove..oh, by the way, there's a staff meeting in about 15 minutes."
"Ughh, ok. I'll see you later then, Yua." You grab your phone and a notepad and head to the meeting room. You say good morning to the teachers that are already there as you get settled into your seat. Different teachers and staff trickle in the closer time comes for the meeting to begin. The room falls silent as Aizawa slowly walks in. You gasp lightly, almost every inch of his body that you could see is covered in bandages. He takes the empty seat between you and Present Mic.
