Naomasa took you down an echoing hallway, the only sounds were those of your footsteps bouncing off the walls.

"Here we are. Remember-"

"As much information as possible, minimal damage. Got it"

"I was going to say be careful. But yeah, that too" you smiled and he winked as he opened the door for you. When you walked in, you activated your quirk so you could begin to collect information. As you passed the guards, you saw their auras, a little scared, but normal. Once you reached the second door to Nomu, they let you in, and his aura was everything and nothing. It was all over the place, but there was somehow no emotions, or at least none you can see or feel. It was chaotic and out of place.

"Hello, Nomu. I'm [y/n], I wanted to speak with you about a couple things." He said nothing, of course. He just looked forward, eyes bulging out of his head, thoughtless, almost lifeless.

"Nomu, I want you to look at me" you said with your mind. No response from Nomu.

"Nomu. I said, look at me." This time you demanded. His eyes shot over to you, you felt a chill run down your spine.

"That's better. I'm going to search your brain for answers since you haven't been very cooperative with my friends here. It'll be easier for the both of us if you don't struggle, ok?" You sit down in a chair in front of him and get comfortable. You close your eyes and take a deep breath as you begin to search his mind for anything that might help the detectives.

The best way to visualize what you see is like walking down a hallway with many rooms that have no doors. When you glance into the room, you can see the memory playing, obviously through the persons perspective. Sometimes the rooms have locked doors, sometimes the doors are open but there's something jamming it. Every person has a different version of this kind of hallway, Nomu's was completely white and devoid of all personalization.

Typically the memory plays on its own, but the rooms you peered into was like a moment frozen in time.

"Nomu, I need to see these memories. Can you play this one for me?" You wait for it to play, but nothing.

"This is already getting old. Play the memory." After you tell him to play it, the room you're looking into instantly begins playing the memory, it was just of him sitting in the room, looking at his chains.

"Interesting.." You found that you had to tell Nomu to play the memories, he couldn't do it on his own. You tested it with a couple more memories and quickly realized that you'd be here all day if you tried looking through all the rooms.

A good thing about your quirk is that you can clearly see a persons memories. You've tried to work on retrieving and restoring lost memory, but the funding for that research ran out quickly once people heard how dangerous it was. A bad thing about your quirk is that your empathetic abilities sometimes likes to poke through, so you begin to feel some of the feelings from those memories. With Nomu, you felt..nothing. When you first saw his memory of being put in here, he didn't feel a thing. You walked by the room that showed the USJ incident.

"Nomu, I need to see this one" The monitors he was connected to started to beep and it surprised you. With this memory, he felt what you're sure the machines would register as excitement, and a little bit of arousal.

"Gross.." you mumbled quietly

You saw his fight with All Might, then you gasped as you saw him break Shouta's limbs and smash his face into the pavement. Compared to Nomu, Shouta was basically a rag doll.

Nomu's mind was expressing essentially the essence of what he would have felt if he had a normal, healthy mind. Like the twinge of excitement, and the arousal..while gross, was just his bodily response. But if his thoughts were anything like his memories, he'd have to be told what to think. If he had any thoughts of his own, they'd be extremely simple. They were no more than 'like' and 'don't like'.

For example, smashing Shouta's face in- Like.

Sitting in this room- Don't like

"Watch it, I can see your thoughts, you know" You go farther down the hallway, and some of the memories are not as clear and glitchy. One of them showed two people, one stood behind a bar while the other slouched in a barstool. The next room showed Nomu in a seat looking up at a bright light. He was strapped down, something he didn't like. There was a man in a lab coat putting wires in Nomu's brain, then there was someone else, somehow you could feel the presence of this other person...if you thought the aura in Yua's office was evil incarnate, then some how, this was a whole other level. This...he..it was the original source.

You tried going back farther, to before the experiment, but you run into these two big doors that are closed. You push the doors and they begin to open, but then they're forced closed, an issue you're familiar with when someone actively tries to keep you from seeing something.

"Nomu, what did I say about resisting" You tried again, but the doors were still resisting.

"Let. Me. In!" You demand. You push against the doors hard, you heard movement and opened your eyes, Nomu had curled his hands into a fist. The first signs of pain I'm sure he's shown in quite sometime.

"I told you it would be easier for you if you didn't struggle. You may have a great physical advantage on me, but this is my playground, you cannot win." You made one final push and stumbled into a very fragmented mind. This room was like a fun house, mirrors on all sides, and you saw yourself go on for infinity.

"What did they do to you?" You said quietly. You saw a human trapped inside of glass cage. You couldn't hear him, but he was banging and hitting on the glass, you think he was begging to get out.

"You're probably in here for a reason. Your mind is protecting you" you carefully walk around the cage, the man is still banging and yelling, he slides down to the floor, desperate and crying. Beyond the cage, there is a wall that is like a giant broken mirror, and in each piece there was a different memory. Some show exactly what experiments were done with him, some that go as far back as when he-

"[y/n]! [y/n]!!" Naomasa is shaking you roughly. You open your eyes, gasping for air you didn't realize you were holding and there were tears streaming down your face. The machine's Nomu was attached to we're going off the charts, loudly beeping and recording. Apparently Nomu was shaking so violently that one of his restraints broke, it took three big men to hold him still. You decided to help them and use your power to force his arm down so the men could put a new restraint in.

"Detective, we need to talk."
