"[y/n], you're needed in room 1-J"
You step out of your office and Yua is talking to a student.
"What's wrong?"
"They said that one of the students got into an argument with another student and they transformed into some kind of beast and started tearing up the classroom."
"You said they're in class 1-J?" She nods.
"Is it Kemono Nakamura?" You ask the frightened student standing there quietly.
"Yes," they say as they nod.
"Yeah, she has some serious anger issues. She has to see me and Hound Dog every week. Is he here?"
"Not now, he's supposed to come in later." You roll your eyes.
"Alright, c'mon," you motion to the student and ask them a couple questions about what happened before the argument.
When you get to the classroom, the teacher is laying on the ground, you can't tell if they're conscious or not. A group of students huddled in a corner, protected by a makeshift barrier of desks and chairs. There's another student in the middle of the classroom breathing hard and their clothes are ripped.
"Kemono." You say firmly. They continue breathing hard, hunched over and growling lowly.
"Kemono." You say firmly with your mind, they turn to you, snarling.
"Kemono, you need to calm down, ok? We can talk out whatever got you upset but I can't have you terrorizing your class like this." She looks at you and thinks for a second before charging at you and the student. You push the student next to you out of the way and manage to jump out of the way. They swiped at you and nicked your cheek. You reached for the scratch and saw a little bit of blood.
"Alright, too far." You say, annoyed. You had a date tonight and now you had to go with this scratch on your face. She charged at you again. This time, you stood firm, activating your quirk and dragging her to the ground. You slowly walked over, adjusting the sleeves of your blouse and tapped her temples to make her go to sleep. Her body shrunk to her small human form and you picked her up easily.
"Alright you guys, it's safe to come out now." You tell the students in the corner as you put her down on a table that's next to the front door. You walk over and check the teacher who's still laying on the ground. She's alive, but unconscious. From what the other student told you, Kemono threw a textbook at her head and it knocked her out. Kemono is probably going to get suspended and have even more anger management sessions with you and Hound Dog. This is her second incident this year. Hound Dog dealt with the first, which is how she started seeing you in the first place. You ask one of the bigger boys to carry the teacher and tell the students to stay put until a sub can come in and they can continue their lessons. One of the students puts on a movie for them as they waited and you walked out with Kemono and the teacher.
She woke up not long after she made it to the nurses office and went home immediately after. You didn't wake Kemono up until her father was able to get to school. When Hound Dog came in, there was a meeting between you both, Principal Nezu, Kemono, and her father. She was suspended for 10 days for knocking her teacher out and disrupting class. As you predicted, she was ordered to do about two months of anger management with an evaluation to see if she needed to continue or not. You looked over at her and could tell she felt bad for hurting her teacher, but when you talked to her in the past, she said that when she gets angry, she just sees red and can only focus on the source of her anger. You didn't bother to mention that she nicked you on the cheek, that would've given her more time out of school.
"It's been really hard since mom left."
"Her mother was really the only person that could calm her down.." her father explained. Your heart ached for the little girl who was literally just in need of a mother.
"It's ok to be angry, Kemono. But remember with your quirk, it can go from zero to 100 in a blink of an eye and that's what's most dangerous for yourself and everyone around you." Hound Dog says sternly. You stay quiet and see pain and anger flashing through her eyes. Once the meeting was over, Hound Dog stayed back to speak to Principal Nezu about her and some other things. You were about to go into your office to write your report when you get a flash of Kemono's eyes again. You run out the office and call her name. When she turns around, you give her a big hug. She's stunned at first but relaxes into your arms and begins sobbing. You rub her back softly as she calms down. Her father stands there awkwardly and waits for her to finish.
"Mr. Nakamura, I won't pretend to understand what you two are going through, but what's important is that you have each other. Her anger is stemming from the pain her mother inflicted on the both of you. You don't even need to talk, sometimes all you need is a simple hug.." He stays quiet and nods. He holds an arm out and she hugs him tightly as they make their way out the school. It's not going to get better over night, but you know this is a good first step for her.
When you get back to the office. Yua is taking a small break, eating a snack and flipping through a magazine.
"Is she gonna be ok?" She asks, not looking up from her magazine. You sigh and lean on the counter.
"Eventually, yeah. As long as she really works on that temper of hers," she reminds you of another hot head that's grown on you. Katsuki has been seeing you regularly, and it's quickly become one of your favorite sessions. Listening to how hard he tries to show that he doesn't care about his classmates when he in all reality he's actually fascinated by them is quite entertaining to hear. Plus he's always going on about how much he loves his mom and how much he wants to make his dad proud. It's really heartwarming.
"That temper is what kept her from entering the hero course. She got a ton of villain points, but only because someone knocked her over and she took it out on the robots.." It felt like the entrance exams was a lifetime ago.
"Well good thing she has you and HD." You raise your eyebrow at the nickname for Hound Dog. She finishes flipping through the magazine and looks up at you. She let's out a gasp and grabs your face.
"Did she do this??" Yua stands to get a better look, one hand with an iron grip on your cheeks. You knock over the things on the counter as she pulls you towards her.
"Yua! Yes, she did!! Can you let me go?!" She let's go and sits in a huff.
"Don't you have a date tonight??" You rub your cheeks and she starts organizing the mess you made.
"I do, but it's fine. It's just a nick, I'm sure he won't even notice."
"I'd cancel. No way you'd catch me going on a date all scratched up." You roll your eyes and help her out. "Do you know where you're going?"
"He said dinner uptown then a surprise."
"Oooooooo, what are you going to wear?" You freeze. You had absolutely no idea.
"Ummmm, I'm sure I'll find something." Her eyes widen.
"Go home now and find something. I'll tell Nezu that you felt sick or something." You laugh.
"I'll be fine..I'll figure it out."
"Are you sure? If you need some more options, I can bring like half my closet in a moments notice." You giver her a deadpanned look, she's at least 3 dress sizes bigger than you. You loved her generosity but you wouldn't fit in any of her clothes.
"I got it, relaaaax.."
