"TJ I'm not going" I said rolling my eyes at him as he held my daughter Desire on his hip. "Why not?"
"I don't want my daughter at some trap house" I said shaking my head while I finished washing dishes. "Look I know everybody there and ain't shit finna happen" he said and I mean mug him. "I have to work tonight"
"Yeah and I gotta watch this little munchkin anyways" TJ said before tickling Desire and she laughed. "If I go will you stop asking me?" I asked drying my hands and he nodded. "Fine" I sighed.
TJ is this dude I met when I first moved to Cali seeing that I know no one down here. He helps me with Desire a lot and he's a good friend but he hangs out with some shady dudes sometimes which I'm not too chill about.
"We leaving now, I'll be waiting in the car" he said carrying Desire out the house and I nodded. I decided to grab my jacket since it's supposed to rain today and I walked out my building and got into TJ's car with him and Desire.
"D you got your tablet?" I asked turning around and she nodded. "Mommy gonna get you some food in a few minutes"
"Ok" Desire said and TJ pulled off.
Once we got to the trap house TJ been telling me about I got out the car with Desire and placed her on my hip. TJ unlocked the door and we walked inside seeing four guys.
"Yo this Kailani" he said and the guys nodded. One was rolling a blunt and the other ones was counting money. "Yo smoke that outside or something" TJ said to one of the guys and he nodded before walking out the back door.
"This Kaleb, Boggie and Stevie" he said and I nodded. "Hey I'm Kailani and this my daughter Desire"
"Wassup" Boggie said sending me a head nod. "Why you ain't tell us she was fine as fuck?" Kaleb questioned TJ and TJ mean mugged him while I sat on the couch beside Stevie.
"Yo you smell good as fuck" he said and I laughed. "That's a bad work" Desire said to Stevie and he stopped counting the money. "My fault little bit" he said and she smiled. "TJ what time is it?" I asked, "five thirty"
"I'm gonna be late" I said after I sucked my teeth. "I'll take D and get her some food, I can drop you off too" he said and I nodded standing up. I totally lost track of time.
"Yo I'll be back" TJ said and the guys nodded before we walked out the door.
TJ dropped me off at the strip club where I work. No I'm not a stripper I'm a bartender. I got changed in the back and got straight to work. "Yo I've been waiting on a drink for five minutes now" a guy said and I mean mugged him. He saw how busy I've been rushing around and he's worried around a five minute drink?
"Your wife has been waiting for her husband to come home for five hours, life ain't fair buddy" I said rolling my eyes and he got quiet. "So difficult" I mumbled before making his drink.
|Hours later| • TJ's POV:
I walked back in the trap with Desire. I took her to the park and I took her to McDonald's. "Go sit on the couch" I said and she nodded with her happy meal in her hands before sitting on the couch and playing with the toy that came in the box while I closed the door.
"Damn I ain't know you had a kid" I heard someone say from behind me and I turned around seeing Kentrell. "Yo Top what you doing here?" I asked before he dapped me up.
"I needed somewhere to chill. Whose kid?" He asked referring to Desire. "It's my friends, she at work so ima watch her until she get off"
"What's your name?"
"Desire" she said playing with her toy and Kentrell nodded before staring at her. Kentrell and I been friends ever since he moved down here. He's a rapper. "Yo you good?" I asked laughing and he slightly nodded. "Yeah she just look familiar" he said and I shrugged.
"Yo while you here count this money for me" I said throwing some money with a rubber band around it to him and he nodded before sitting down beside Desire. "So how old you is?" He asked her as I walked into the kitchen and got a text from Kailani.
Kay💕: I get off at 11:00
Me : ight
I put my phone away and grabbed a bottle of water before walking back into the living room with Top and Desire.
"Four" he said wrapping the money back up. "You counted four grand that quick?" I asked and he nodded. "What's your last name?"
"Yo why you so interested in Desire?" I questioned and Kentrell shrugged. "She just look like someone I know but I can't think of who"
"Well I don't think you know any other four year olds" I shrugged and he nodded. "I better get out of here" he said dapping me up. "Ight, wait you still dating Jania?" I asked and he shook his head no. "We can talk about it tomorrow, I'll be back over after this interview I got" he said and I nodded before Kentrell left the trap.
|Later that night|
"Thanks for watching her" Kailani said and I nodded. "It wasn't a problem, she tired now though" I said as Kailani nodded carrying Desire in the house. "Hold up" she said and I nodded as she walked away to put Desire in her room.
Kailani came back and smiled at me. "I really appreciate you" she said kissing my cheek and I smiled hugging her. "You gon come back to the trap tomorrow?" I asked and she nodded.
"Yeah Desire won't be with me though"
"Where she going?" I asked pulling out the hug. "My cousin is in town and wants to spend the day with her. I told her I had to work but I lied" Kailani said and I shook my head smiling.
"Ight I'll pick you up at two" I said and she nodded while I walked out the door. "TJ" she said and I turned around. "I love you"
"I love you too Kay" I said before walking to my car and heading home.
