Chapter seventeen

Kailani's POV:

"Girl if you don't hurry up" I said and Kayla nodded. "Right I'm starving"

"Ok ok I'm coming" she said from her bathroom and I playfully rolled my eyes. "Mommy Trell calling" Desire said handing me my phone.

"Hello-"

"How the fuck Jania gon be mad at me cause I can't be at that fucking doctors appointment. I'm on fucking house arrest what the fuck I'm supposed to do about that-"

"Please stop yelling....why didn't you remind her yesterday you couldn't go?"

"I wasn't listening to her talk"

"Well....I don't know what to tell you"

"Y'all like this?" Adriana asked walking out the bathroom while Kayla and I nodded. "Laniiiii listen!"

"Kentrell Smith do not yell at me....look I'll bring you home some food ok?"

"Mmcht fine" he said before I hung up. "Baby daddy issues?" Kayla asked smiling. "Girl you have no idea" I said shaking my head.

The girls and I hung out pretty much all day and when Desire and I got home Kentrell was sleep on the couch.

"Go to your room" I said and she nodded before walking upstairs with her tablet. I slammed the door causing Kentrell to wake up and fall off the couch before I started dying laughing.

"I-can't-" I laughed and Kentrell sucked his teeth before standing up. "Man you play too much" he said with an attitude before walking over to me and pulling me into a hug. "Um what are you doing?" I asked not hugging him back.

"I need a hug" he said and I scrunched my face. "Um....hug yourself"

"Can you just shut up so that I can get a REAL hug" he said and I rolled my eyes hugging him back. "Just like old times" he mumbled and I pushed him back. "Yeah you ruined it" I said and Kentrell sucked his teeth.

"I was just tryna feel loved" he pouted before sitting back down on the couch. "Love yourself" I said walking into the kitchen. "I thought you got me some food" Kentrell said and let out a breath. "Yeah my fault I left it in the car" I said before walking out the kitchen and walking outside to my car.

Kentrell's POV:

Kailani walked out the house to her car so she could grab me the food she brought home and I turned on the tv before walking upstairs.

I looked into Desire's room and saw she was sleep. I pulled the covers over her and turned out her light before closing her door and walking back down stairs before I heard a couple loud noises.

I looked around in confusion before opening the front door seeing a car speeding off and Kailani was laying on the ground holding her stomach which was bleeding.

"Lani!" I yelled before rushing over to her and she was coughing up blood trying to keep her eyes open. "Kailani stay awake!" I said before pulling my phone out of my pocket and calling 911.

"Nine one one, what is your emergency"

"My girl has been shot" I said holding Kailani in my arms while sitting on the ground. "Sir where are you?"

"My house" I said before giving the lady on the phone my address. "Ok is the gunmen still there?"

"No they was in a car I think, I don't know can you just get someone ovve r here"

"A ambulance is on the way" the lady said and I looked down at Kailani who started to close her eyes. "LANI!" I yelled tryna get her to wake up. "Sir what's happening?"

"She's closing her eyes, yo where is that ambulance at?!"

"They are two minutes away, please just calm down" the lady said before I heard the ambulance and I hung up the phone.

"Kailani wake up!" I yelled but her eyes stayed closed, "Fuck"

|A hour later|

"Kentrell" Adriana said walking into the hospital with Three, TJ, Kayla and Boomer. "Where is she?"

"They still doing surgery on her" I said sitting in the hospital chair and rubbing my hand down the side of my face. "You have to get back home unless you want to go to jail" my officer said and I looked down at my house arrest bracelet that was still beeping.

"Yo my gi- I mean my baby mama in the hospital and you worried about this damn ankle bracelet?" I asked and he stayed quiet. "As soon as I know she's good I'll go" I said and he nodded. "I'll make a call and get it to stop beeping until then but you have an hour" he said walking not too far away.

"Yo Top what happened?" Boomer asked, "Man she had some food in the car and went to get it while I checked on Desire. When I came downstairs after hearing shit I saw her outside bleeding" I said shaking my head.

"Did you see who did it?" Adriana asked and I shook my head no. "It was some niggas in this black dodge"

"Charger?" Three asked and I shook my head no, "Challenger" I said and he nodded "TJ was being mad quiet which I understood. When I first got here I was acting like a fucking mad man.

"You...um..." Adriana said looking at my shirt and I looked down seeing Kailani's blood and slightly nodded. "I know"

"Where's Desire?" TJ finally asked, "Sleep, KD and Ben are watching her at the house" I said and he nodded.

"Family of Kailani Williams?" The nurse asked and I stood up, "Is she good?"

"Well she has a sprained wrist and ankle but as for the bullets she was shot three times and doctors we able to remove them all. It was honestly a miracle"

"Can we see her?" Adriana asked and the nurse nodded. "Yes but one at a time, she's sleeping"

"Top go first since you gotta be at home" TJ said and I nodded before the nurse showed me and my officer to her room.

"I'll be quick" I said to my officer and he nodded before I walked into Kailani's room and saw her hooked up to a bunch of shit. "Yo....I don't even know what to say" I mumbled before grabbing her hand.

"Ima find the niggas that did this....and Ima kill them" I assured her as she slept, "Ima get someone to bring you your phone tomorrow....I want you to call me as soon as you wake up...I wanna be here but, you know...house arrest" I said slightly laughing to myself before kissing Kailani's forehead.

"I love you slime...." I said before walking out the room.
