Chapter eighteen

|February 14th - Valentine's Day|

Kailani's POV:

"I still can't believe they let you out so soon" Adriana said helping me out the car and I smiled. "Girl when you cute, you can make anything happen" I said causing her to laugh. "Now you really handicap" she said and I mean mugged her before she laughed again and opened the door and I seen Kentrell watching tv.

"Hi to you too" Adriana said rolling her eyes, "Man whatchu doing her- Lani" Kentrell said turning around and I smiled. "The one and only" I said while Adriana closed the front door and Kentrell got up hugging me. "OW" I said in pain and he pulled back really quick. "My fault...come on" he said helping me to the couch before laying me down.

"You need another pillow? You want something to drink? You need-"

"Relax I'm good" I said before Adriana walked over with my new purse she bought be for my birthday. She sat it on the table before kissing my cheek. "I gotta go but happy birthday! I love you"

"I love you too" I said before she left out the house and Kentrell walked upstairs. "Wow thanks" I said rolling my eyes before he came back downstairs with hella stuff. "They let you out the hospital that early?"

"Yeah I have a way with words.....what's all of this?" I asked as he sat the bags in front of me and sat on the couch. Kentrell helped me sit up and handed me one of the bags. "Happy birthday" he said and I opened the gift smiling seeing a new pair of shoes.

"Thank youuu" I said admiring the shoes before Kentrell took them and handed me another bag.. "Damn how much did you get me?" I asked and he shrugged smiling. I opened the next gift seeing a red dress.

"Of course you would buy me this short ass dress" I said and we both laugh. "Read where its from" he said before I picked up the tag.

"You didn't buy me Versace" I said and Kentrell's smile grew. "Not only did I buy it but it was made just for you, there's no other dress like it" he said and I swear this nigga was about to make me cry.

"Ight now this one" he said handing me a medium size black box. I opened it seeing old pictures of Kentrell and I.

"Really?" I asked smiling and he nodded as we looked at the pictures together. "That's when you snuck out the house to see me in the middle of the night" he pointed out.

"If my mom would've woke up I would've been dead" I said and we both laughed. "I remember this" I said picking up a picture which was me posing while Kentrell was sleep. "You was wrong for that one" he said and I laughed again.

After opening hella other gifts there was one more Kentrell claimed. "I opened all the boxes though"

"Yeah but there's something else"

"Ok...what is it?"

"I ain't getting off house arrest until August but when I do the first thing we doing is going back to Baton Rouge" he said and I froze. "W-what?" I asked.

"We gonna go visit home" he said seeming excited. "Kentrell....Baton Rouge is our past....why would you wanna go back?" I asked and Kentrell stared at me for a while.

"It'll be fun" was all he said and I scrunched my face. "Look I know I couldn't do much but happy birthday. I would've taken you to dinner and everything but-"

I cut Kentrell off by kissing him and he kissed me back before I pulled away. "I loved it" I smiled. "For real?" He asked and I nodded. "I honestly couldn't ask for a better birthday....there's just one more thhing"

"Wassup?" Kentrell asked clearly in a good mood. "Can you carry me upstairs? I can barely stand up on my own" I said and Kentrell laughed before nodding. "Yeah I gotchu" he said before picking me up.

"By the way...where's Desire?"

"She's staying with TJ for a while" he said and I nodded.

After showering and everything I decided to lay in Kentrell's room with him. Adriana was telling me how he blamed himself for the shooting but it really wasn't his fault. I heard him at the hospital. That was his first time EVER saying he loved me, he just doesn't know I heard him.

We were watching a movie and twenty minutes into it Kentrell fell asleep and I laid my head on his chest.

"I love you too" I mumbled before closing my eyes and going to sleep.
