"Don't go too far" I said to Desire as she played in Kentrell's pool. He had some shit to do today so Desire and I stayed here.
I was chilling on my phone while drinking some wine that Kentrell had in his house until I heard someone ring the doorbell. "Stay right there" I said grabbing my glass and Desire nodded as I got up and walked inside to the front door.
I opened it seeing the girl Jania that I've seen before. "Oh- hi" she said as I gave her a small smile. "You must be Jania" I said and she nodded. "Yeah....you are?"
"Kailani" I said reaching out my free hand and she shook it. "Nice to meet you, is Kentrell here?" She asked and I shook my head no. "He had a meeting he'll be back la-"
"Mommy" Desire called out while walking towards me. "Yes?"
"I'm hungry" she said and I nodded. "That's your daughter?" Jania asked and I nodded. "Yes her name is Desire, D say hi to Jania" I said and Desire waved. "She's adorable"
"Thank you" I smiled. "Like I was saying Kentrell should be here later today" I said and she nodded. "So you and Kentrell date?" She asked and I shook my head. "No no no, just um...friends and I have his baby" I said and Jania's eyes slightly widened.
Please don't tell me she ain't know because everyone should know at this point.
"S-so its true?" She asked and I nodded, "Um yes, why would we lie?" I asked laughing to myself and Jania stayed quiet.
"Not funny? Ok" I mumbled to myself. "I should really get going but please tell Kentrell to call me because I have something important to tell him"
"I can take a message" I said smiling , trying to figure out what the big 'secret' was. "Fine, tell him I'm pregnant with his baby" she said and my mouth dropped. "Oop" I said and clearly that wasn't the reaction she wanted.
"What do you mean oop?" She awkwardly laughed, "I mean Oop, now Kentrell got two baby mamas" I laughed picking up Desire. "Ok well you told your secret and I'll let him know" I said before shutting the door in her face.
"Mommy who was that?"
"No one important" I smiled before walking into the kitchen and making her some food...
|Hours later|
"I'm home" Kentrell said and I grabbed the food he had out of his hand. "Thank youuuu" I said smiling and he shook his head. "What y'all been doing?" He asked seeing Desire laying on the couch watching Nick Jr.
"Oh nothing, just chilling in the pool, looking for a job, finding out you got Jania pregnant, I made-"
"Wait, wait, wait, I got Jania what?" Kentrell asked while I looked in the bag. "Ouuu you got wings?"
"Lani!"
"Mmcht, fine, Jania came over here and said you got her pregnant" I explained, "Ouu and fries, boy I knew there was something I liked about you"
"Ok, Lani look" he said taking the box of fries out of my hand and I pouted. "When did Jania come over?"
"While you were gone" I shrugged, "You let her inside?" He asked and I shook my head no. "No she wanted to tell you something but you wasn't here so she told me.....can I have a wing?" I asked and he nodded putting the box down and I started making me a plate.
"Damn" Kentrell mumbled and I smiled, "Why you smiling and shit?"
"I always smile when I get food" I said and Kentrell shook his head.
"Anyways what you gonna do about Jania?" I asked and he shrugged. "Shit I don't know but I gotta tell you something" he said and I nodded eating some fries.
"My manager thinks you and I hanging out and having a kid could be a good look for me" he said smiling and I scrunched my face. "A good look?" I asked and he nodded, "yeah so people will think that I'm a family man and shit" he said and I gave him a 'really nigga?' look.
"What?"
"Family man? Really?" I asked and he shrugged before I waved him of. "Whatever" I said before eating another fry.
"Come meet my manager with me tomorrow and we can all talk about it" he assured me. "I could even get you a job"
"Doing what?"
"You can be a public figure" he said and I slightly nodded. "Fine Kentrell, what time tomorrow?"
"After we drop Desire off at school" he said and I nodded before picking up my plate. "Where you going?"
"To the living room" I said in a duh tone, "you eating that food in MY living room?" He asked and I nodded before walking away.
Becoming a public figure doesn't seem too bad, especially for a jobless person.
