"Sir Aether, the documents are here." Bennett stood at the door, his grey uniform on as always. He'd been an adventurer who was reduced to a messenger boy after the members of his adventure team had petitioned him to be thrown out because of the injuries they had sustained due to his extremely bad luck. This was Bennett's last year in service at the palace, and next spring he would be allowed to return to the Adventurer's Guild as a solo adventurer.
Aether was a lieutenant in the army of the aristrocratic state of Mondstadt, known as Old Mondstadt, which was seperated from the democratic part of the nation. Prince Diluc was the official heir to the throne, while his younger, adopted brother Kaeya had joined the democratic state, along with a lady of the noble house of Lawrence, whose name was Eula.
"Sire, news on your sister has come. A woman greatly resemblin' you has entered the city and she's been walkin' here and there with two boys who have black hair and white hair." Bennett reported. Aether's heart was tinged with hope, which he momentarily displayed on his face before composing himself. He stood up and headed for his coat and sword, which hang on the wall near the door.
"I shall go myself to ascertain the truth. Ah, and Bennett, make sure to use more appropriate speech with me the next time you come to give me a report." Aether smiled chillingly. Bennett, who disliked his strictness, and was scared of it, nodded with a pale face.
Aether walked out the door, and made his way down the hallways of the palace. The staff knelt on their feet when they saw him, as was the custom. As the adopted son of the Belliat family, he'd had a lot of trouble climbing up the ranks and making himself a significant figure in the world of nobles, as everyone made light of him. Now he'd reached a point where he was a highly respected and feared noble who worked in the palace in a high position, had increased the amount of wealth that belonged to his family, and done as much for the commoners as he could. He could have basically anything he wanted. He'd been told he'd had a twin sister and he'd been searching for her for years. And now, he could finally meet her. She'd come to his country herself.
He strode out of the palace and towards the soldiers' barracks. They knelt down respectfully as soon as they saw him, and lifted their heads only when he motioned them to. He crossed his arms over his chest.
"I trust the training is going well. I have an important task for you, should you be resting this moment." he spoke, holding his posture firmly, as elegantly as possible as he spoke, choosing his words carefully.
"Sire! Whatever you ask us to do, we shall carry it out for we were indeed resting." one of the soldiers declared. Aether narrowed his eyes at him.
"I hope that you are not spouting a lie for my sake. Well, coming to the point, my sister, from whom I was seperated since birth, is rumoured to have arrived in the city. I was informed about it by Bennett during his report this morning and on that note, I request your cooperation to find my beloved sister, find her and bring her and her companions to the palace. We are twins, so she will look alike to me." Aether finished. The soldiers looked at each other, then nodded.
"It shall be done, sire!"
