1 month later
"Are you sure this is a good idea me coming. I feel like your mom doesn't like me." Larkin said as Bucky and Milo load up the car to head to port for a ten day cruise.
"Stop it.." Bucky said as he walked over to her.
He kissed her. "Its fine." He said
He opened up the car door for her and she got in the back with Violet. Bucky and Milo rode up front as the families including Violet were off to port to get on the cruise ship. They all boarded and found their rooms.
A few days into the cruise Bucky found his mom looking out over the water.
"Okay we need to talk mom. Cause in order for all of us to enjoy this we need to talk..come on." He said as he took her to his room.
"Let me have it." He said
"You are my good one. I didnt want you getting wrapped up in girls and sex. You are 17 James.." she said
"You met dad at 17. Mom she loves me for me she enjoys alot of the same stuff I do. She has never tried to change me. She is the bold to my quiet. When I look at you and dad I see what me and her can be. Mom please be happy for me I finally found a girl that loves me just the way that I am." Bucky said.
Winnie looked down. "Just promise me that you are being careful." She said
"Mom shes on the patch and Im using condoms." He said as he hugged her.
"Ok" she whispered as he left.
Bucky found Milo and their girls down by the pool.
"Did you find mom?" Milo said
"Yeah I did. I dont think she is fully embracing that Im growing up but she'll get there one day." He said.
"Little brother I wanted to say Im sorry that I wasn't a good big brother to you. And Im sorry that I made you feel like I didnt care." Milo said
"Thanks." He said with a smile.
A week into the cruise Milo found Winnie doing some virtual check ups. "You are on vacation mom." He said as he sat beside her.
She let out a laugh.
"You know mom you are eventually going to have to accept her. Little James wants to marry her mom. Larkin has been through alot and I know for a fact that she would love it if she had someine like you to look up to in the mother figure role. Her dad is in prison her mom hasnt been around much. I bet once you get to know her you would see she isnt a bad person " Milo said
She sighed.
Later on that day they were all having dinner together. She watched as Bucky waited on Larkin was affectionate. They shared a few dances on the dance floor when dinner was over. She pulled them aside.
"Larkin can I talk to you." Winnie said
She bit her lip and looked at Bucky. "Go on.." he whispered
Larkin left with Winnie they sat in Winnie's suite.
"Larkin I owe you an apology. I mis judged you and thought you were out to hurt my baby. He is the only one of my boys who is like me. Me and my husband are the opposite of you two. Hes the bold and Im the quiet one.." Larkin said
"I love your son Winnie. When I felt like I had no one he was there for me hes all I had in my corner. My mom is gone my dad is in prison and my friends turned their back on me." She said
Winnie looked down. "Im sorry I know you've been through alot Larkin. And you have us too now in your corner. And I will be here for you if you need to come to me for advice or anything. But promise me two things..promise me that you won't hurt him and one day give me grandbabies." Winnie said
Larkin was shocked. "He told Milo that he wants to marry you." Winnie said
Larkin smiled. "I promise." She said as they hugged
"Come to me anytime Larkin honey." Winnie said
