A week later
"James! Heads up you have company!" James yelled up the stairs as Larkin went up them.
She walked into his room as she knocked, he looked up from tying his shoes when he saw legs.
"Larkin.." he said
"Hi.." she said
"I can't hang out today. I have plans with my friends." He said
"Oh.." she said
"Im sorry that you drove all the way here.." he said
"Its fine..Im just gonna um go. Sorry I bothered you." She said as a lump formed in her throat.
Larkin walked out, as she got to the door James seen her wiping her face.
"Larkin are you okay?" He said
"Yeah Im fine. He has plans so Im just gonna go to my grandparents or something." She said as she left.
Bucky came down the stairs a few minutes later. "Okay dad Im off. I have to pick up Steve." He said
"Son we will talk when you get back." James said
Bucky looked at his dad. "Did TJ or Milo say I did something? Cause I haven't done anything to tbem or to Teagan." He said
"We will talk when you get back James." James said
Bucky left to pick up Steve to meet the rest of the astronomy club at the planeterium. While Bucky was spending the day there, Larkin went to her mom's parents house. She floated around the pool.
When Bucky returned home he found his dad in his office.
"I'm home." He said
James looked up from the case he was working on.
"What did you say to Larkin earlier that made her cry." James said
"I didn't make her cry. All I said was I couldnt hang out I had plans." he said
"Son she was crying when she left. And you could of included her it wasnt a actual school field trip. Its labor day weekend." James said
"Dad she has her own friends and I highly doubt that a girl like her wants to spend the day with a bunch of nerds. Heck Milo doesnt even want the world to know we are related." he said
"James Buchanan.." James said
He looked down.
"She has alot going on in her life. Shes probably just looking for a friend ." James said .
"Dad I just said she has friends. Shes a cheerleader and popular." he said
"James, I meant that maybe she is looking for someone she feels won't let her down. Who will be there for her and be a ear for her. I was a popular kid in high school like Milo I only cared about games girls and parties until I needed that person when your aunt was murdered. Thats how I met your mama. She was alot like you. You will apologize to her do you understand?" James said
Bucky looked down. "Yes sir.." Bucky said as he walked out.
