A week later
Summer school began Larkin was sitting in the second classroom for students going into sophomore year. Hudson was crashing at his parents place until he found a new place. So Larkin couldnt focus on anything else.
"Ms Newton..are you still with us?" Ms Ester said
"Yes ma'am.." she said in a low voice
Bucky looked up from the book he was reading. Another hour had passed when Ms Ester asked Larkin a question and she got it wrong.
"James, why don't you and her go to the library and work on the assignment." Ms Ester said
"Yes ma'am." Bucky said as he gathered up his stuff.
Larkin followed him to the library, "Larkin you have to focus and quit going to daydream land." Hw said as they sat down.
Larkin opened up the book and began to do the assignment as she hid a tear. She and Bucky spent the rest of the day in the library.
"I need better tomorrow Larkin. Better attitude and more focused." He said as they left the library.
"Yeah sure. " she said as she walked off.
She went to change for cheer practice while Bucky went home.
