John's Reunion

               As we entered the mansion, Masky instantly asked who was with us. "This is John Wick," I replied, "He is the adoptive father of Bella." I could see Masky's eyes widen when I said John's name. "I am going to check up on Claire," He said turning towards the infirmary. "Where is Bella?" John asked me with a shaky voice, "I want to see her." "Follow me," I said. The potion had worn off and I was back to looking like my normal self. We walked up the stairs to go to my room, while we passed the open doors of the other rooms. I opened the door to my room after I asked John to wait outside for a few minutes. I walked inside and found Bella feeding my pups sardines from the can. "Bella," I said with a suppressed smile, "I have a surprise for you." Her wolf ears perked up as I said this. "You can come in," I called out to John. He entered the room and even in the dark, I could see the light flash in Bella's eyes. She bolted over to her father while crying hysterically and John picked her up. "My god," He exclaimed with a smile, "You've gotten so big!" "I thought that you were dead!" Bella exclaimed with tears flowing from her eyes. "I thought that I was going to die," He said whipping the tears from her eyes, "But I was saved by Ingen." I heard a splash from my pool and I knew my pups wanted attention so I walked over to them. "You have babies?" John asked me after seeing the pups circle around each other. "Yes," I replied with a smile, "But I can't remember how I got knocked up though." He picked Bella up and put her on his shoulders as he walked over to the edge of the pool to inspect the pups. "They look like normal bull sharks," He said while looking down at them, "But they also don't look like a 'normal bull'. They look like they have a high intellect, something that they inherited from their mother." I smiled at this then I told him if he could follow me. "Where are we going?" John asked after putting Bella down next to him. "I need you to meet someone that helped both of us," I replied while walking in the direction of the infirmary. He followed close to me with Bella at my side as we walked to the doorway of the infirmary. I opened the door then walked in and I found Claire talking to Haylie. "Hi, Ellie!" Haylie greeted but her face grew pale as she saw John. Claire looked over then snarled at John even though she couldn't attack him from there even if she used her quills. "This is Bella's father," I said trying to calm them down, "He won't hurt any of you." "Hello, ladies," John said with a respectful bow, "I promise that I will do no harm to you or anyone that you care about." "Drop the guns," Claire hissed at him, "Then we can talk." John nodded then slowly pulled the guns out then released the mags then took the round out of the chamber and put the guns down. Claire's hostility subsided then she eased herself up, sitting on the edge of the bed. "I am going to assume that you are Shannon Lycan's daughter, correct?" John asked. "Yes," Claire said with a quivering voice, "But if you are looking for her, she died." "I'm sorry to hear that," John said, "I have seen what Ingen is cooking up in their labs. It's something big, bigger than anything that you have fought before. They call it Blacklight. It can change the host's entire DNA structure so the host can adapt to anything and the host would be able to heal at an extraordinary rate. The host, if infected and is the perfect host, will be able to do things that no other human can do. It is in the form of a virus" "So it's another bioweapons project," Claire said. "Yes," John nodded, "But it is highly unstable." "Who is leading the project?" She asked. "Dr. Alexander J. Mercer," John replied, "He was working with the virus to try to cure all diseases like cancer, HIV, Alzheimer's, and other incurable diseases. When Dr. Mercer and his team saw what it did to a rat, the Gentek division decided to take over the project but they allowed the original team to still work on it." "What happened to the rat?" I asked John. "It was turned into a mindless killing machine," He replied, "It was disfigured beyond recognition and it had all of these black blood-filled cists covering its body. It turned on the other rats in the cage and ripped them apart like tissue paper." "Sorry I asked," I joked. "I need to get back before they get suspicious," He said after glancing at his watch, "I will come back with more information." He bent down to Bella and gave a kiss on her forehead then he told her to stay safe. "When will you be back?" Bella asked while John stroked her ear. "When I get a chance," He replied with a smile, "But, in the meantime, listen to Ellie." She smiled then nodded her head while wagging her tail. John then left the mansion and headed back to Ingen.
