               Susie's POV:

I was out walking into town to get some supplies for Masky because we were running low on medical supplies. I had my combat knife hidden in my hoodie and I also had a bag strapped onto my back that had my mask and a little bit of money. The first place that I had to go to was the pharmacy to get gauze, rubbing alcohol, sterile gloves, and other supplies like painkillers. When I walked in, I was greeted by the receptionist and I walked past her. I grabbed what I had come here for then proceeded to go to the checkout and fell in line with the other customers. There were two people in front of me, one was an elderly man holding a cane, and there was a woman that looked like a rich snob. After the woman in the front was done, the line moved up and an elderly lady with a walker came up behind me. "You can go ahead of me, ma'am," I offered with a smile. "Thank you, Sweety," She said slowly walking ahead of me as I stepped out of her way. "Are you from around here, Dear?" The lady asked me in a kind voice. "Yes," I replied with a smile, "I live in the uptown area of Detroit." "My grandson lives here," The lady said, "I'm getting his insulin here." "Okay," I said. "Next," The cashier said. The lady moved up and put the insulin on the counter then asked how much it was going to be. "That will be $59.99, ma'am," The kid replied. "Oh, I don't have enough," The lady said worried, "Please, I need it for my grandson. He's only five and he needs it!" "Sorry, ma'am," The cashier said sympathetically, "You don't have enough, I can't let you take the insulin." "I'll pay for it," I spoke up after moving beside the elderly lady. I gave him the money and then I gave the insulin to the lady and she hugged me. I then paid for what I have then left.

On my way back, I ran into a boy, but something about that boy seemed familiar. "Watch it!" He yelled when we ran into each other. He stopped to look at me then his eyes lit up. "Susie?!" He said picking me up. "Frank?!" I yelped in surprise, "I thought that you were still in New York!" "Julie and I decided to move down to Detroit," He replied, "How have you been?" "Fine," I said rubbing my arm. He saw the scars on my forearms and rage sparked in his eyes. "Is that piece of sh*t still hurting you?" He asked with a growl. "No," I said, "I killed him." "What about Joey?" He asked me. I hung my head down and tears started to form in my eyes. I felt Frank's arms wrap around me and I told him that I killed my brother. "I didn't know it was him!" I said in between sniffles, "I was just so angry at our deadbeat father that I didn't know that I killed Joey until I looked into his eyes." "It's okay, Sue," Frank said stroking my wolf ears, "I can't say that I would have done things any different if I was in your shoes." "What's this on your hand, Sue?" Frank asked lifting my left hand that had the Proxy insignia burned and tattooed on. "It's something I did a while back," I lied. "Okay," He said catching that lie, "I will go with that." We started walking together asking each other questions and catching up with one another. "Hey, Sue," Frank said, "Don't take this the wrong way because I know that you were bullied by it, but, why did you always have pink hair growing up?" "Well," I said starting to pick at my fingers, "I was born like this. I think it was because I was different than Joey." "Joey isn't actually your brother," Frank said. "I know!" I said playfully punching Frank in his arm, "But I am part human and part werewolf, but I don't actually know why I was born with pink hair." Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a hooded figure bolt past us. It felt like a rush of strong wind as the figure ran past us and every time one of its feet hit the concrete, the stone cracked in the shape of a spider web. "What the hell!?" Frank yelled at the figure. It was a man in his late twenties that turned to face us. His arms were reconstructing into long-bladed claws as he approached us. I pulled my knife out and stepped in front of Frank, preparing to attack the thing if it charged at us. "Look out!" The man yelled as he leaped over the both of us to scissor kick a savage werewolf behind us in mid-air. The man started slashing the beast with his bladed claws trying to get it away from us. "Holy sh*t!" Frank exclaimed wide-eyed, "What the hell is that?!" "I don't know but you have to go," I replied. "No," He said defiantly, "I am not going anywhere!" He pulled out a kukri from his bag and I knew there was no way I was going to talk him out of this so I told him to follow my lead. I threw my knife into the savage's throat and called the knife back as I ran up to the savage. The man was still tearing into the beast's back as I slid under the beast and severed its Achilles tendon. It fell down as the man tore the beast in half and tendrils extended out of the man's back and stabbed into the mutilated body. From there, what was left of the beast was absorbed into the man's body. "What the f*ck are you?" Frank asked confused. "The next step in evolution," The man said, "The name is Alex Mercer." His left arm turned back into his normal arm while his right was turned into what looks like a spearhead. He swung his arm at me and like a whip, his arm stretched to me and wrapped around my torso. I started stabbing his wicked spiked arm with my knife as he dragged me over to him. "LET HER GO, A**HOLE!" Frank yelled charging at Alex. Frank swung his kukri down on his whip arm to make him let go of me but all it did was p*ss Mercer off. Alex kicked Frank in the chest and sent him flying across the street. I tried to wiggle out of Alex's grasp but it was too late, I was right where he wanted me. "You should be thankful," He said with a smile, "I am giving you a rare gift that only I possess." "I don't want your f*cking gift!" I screamed in his face while still stabbing his arm. "You don't have a choice," He said as his left arm began glowing a reddish-orange while growing inter-connected tendrils that engulfed his normal arm. His fingers were replaced with three sharp but small claws that glowed immensely at the tips. He then stabbed me in my stomach it felt like the entire sun was burning through me. He then dropped me as I convulsed on the rough pavement. Everything after that was a blur...
