Azure leaned onto the wall of a building, letting out a big sigh.

Two days had passed since Eren sealed the hole in the wall and saved everyone. Two days had passed since what felt like one of the hardest days of her life.

She had just finished her assignment to check for the remaining bodies left from the battle and was taking a rest until she heard a familiar cry.

"Azure!"

The auburnette turned to see Mina running towards her with a horrified look.

"What's wrong?" She asked.

Mina stopped to catch her breath. "It's Jean."

Worry created a pit in her stomach. Azure couldn't remember if she said seen Jean since the battle and began to worry.

Mina ran off, and Azure followed her. They stopped in an alleyway where Jean sat alone, and she felt a sigh of relief upon seeing him well.

"He won't say anything to me. I think something's seriously wrong," Mina whispered.

Azure nodded and cautiously approached Jean.

"Jean, are you okay?" She asked.

Jean looked up at the two girls with tears in his eyes. He shook his head, and Azure carefully sat down next to him.

"Do you want to talk about it?"

Jean's eyes began to water. He looked the auburnette girl dead in the eye.

"Marco died."

Mina let out a gasp and covered her mouth. Then, she rushed towards Jean and enveloped him in a hug.

"I'm so, so sorry about that, Jean," she whispered.

Jean let out a quiet sob. "The worst part is...the worst part..." he paused to take a breath.

"The worst part is nobody knows how he died or how he ended up the way he is...."

After looking farther down, Azure noticed the mangled body of Marco and felt sick to her stomach.

"He didn't deserve that. He's too good for this world, and he didn't deserve that," Jean cried.

Azure quietly got up and left, trusting Mina to take care of Jean.

As she walked, she felt herself become more and more frustrated.

"We won...but at what cost?"

She thought about Eren and decided to head inside in hopes of finding a supervisor that knew something about him. However, no matter who she asked, she could not be given a solid answer.

"Hey. Nisha's sister."

Azure whipped around to see Captain Levi behind her. He gestured for her not to salute.

"I heard you've been asking about Eren Jaeger."

She nodded and looked at him with hope in her eyes.

"Your friend is doing fine. He hasn't woken up but isn't dead. That's the most we can ask for right now."

Azure nodded again, and the two stood in awkward silence.

"Your sister talks about you a lot. It's irritating," Levi said.

Azure avoided eye contact with him. "I'm sorry."

"It's fine. She has a great opinion of you."

Azure nodded. Levi spoke up again.

"I hope to see you in the Survey Corps, Violez," he said before walking off.
