Mina Torel woke with a start. She felt a hand clasp over her mouth, causing her to thrash around.

"Stop struggling!" A familiar voice hissed.

Mina looked to her side to see Sasha pressing a finger to her lips. "Stay quiet. You might wake Azure up," she whispered. Mina nodded. Sasha removed her hand and allowed the girl to sit up.

 "Why are you up so early...where are the girls?" She whispered. Sasha gestured for the girl to follow her.

"They're all in the mess hall. Don't trip over anything."

The two headed to the mess hall and were greeted by the familiar faces of their fellow cadets.

"Great! Now we can get started!" Armin hummed. Mina tilted her head in confusion. "Get started on what?"

Eren scoffed. "Y'know, considering you're childhood friends and all, you should at least know what day it is."

Mina furrowed her brows. "I know what day it is. It's Azure's birthday today," she replied. Armin nodded. "Right! Eren said he wanted to plan something for her today. Out of all of us, she's never had a birthday party since we've become friends. She should at least get to enjoy one party!" He chirped.

Mina shook her head. "No...Azure said she wanted to have a casual day today..." She mumbled. Eren frowned.

"She says that every year. Besides, turning fifteen is apparently a big deal in Rozafel, so we might as well celebrate."

Mina shrugged. "I guess. What's the plan?"

Armin beamed. He unrolled a large piece of paper and set it down on a nearby table. He gestured for everyone to crowd around him.

"Woah, Armin! When I said you could decide on the plan, I didn't think you'd go to this extent," Eren chuckled. Armin's face turned a faint pink. "Sorry I got invested," he chuckled.

"Anyways," Armin started. "We need someone to distract Azure. She has to be out of the mess hall all afternoon for this to work. Then, the rest of us will split up. We need some people on decorations duty, some on food duty...definitely a group on cleaning duty..." he muttered.

"I can distract her!" Mina T. offered. Eren shot her an unamused look.

"Actually, I was thinking I would distract her..." Eren muttered. The two looked towards Armin, who sheepishly looked away.

"Why don't you both distract her?" Bertholdt suggested. Connie laughed.

"With the way these two get along, you'd practically be sending Azure to her death," he remarked.

Eren nodded. "Exactly. Besides, Armin's plan only calls for one distractor," he said. Armin shrugged.

"I mean...two couldn't hurt. Yeah, It's not what I asked for, but it couldn't hurt," he hummed. Mikasa nodded. "You two need to get along. It's for Azure's sake."

Eren and Mina glanced at each other. Mina looked away first. "I don't know about this..." she mumbled.

"I mean, if Mikasa thinks it's a good idea, it probably is, isn't it?" Jean shrugged. Eren slowly nodded. "I guess..."

"You two both care about Azure, don't you? It can't be that hard to get along. Just for her sake," Bertholdt hummed. Mina nodded. 

"He's right! And even though we don't get along, we have one common goal, and it's keeping Azure happy today!"

Eren nodded in agreement. "Fine. But this doesn't make us friends," he huffed. Mina sighed. "Right. It doesn't.'

"Alright! Everyone write down your names, and I'll sort you into a job. Tomorrow is a big day, so make sure you get enough sleep!" Armin cheered.
