Chapter Eleven: Wicked Witch- 1995

Camila leads Harry and Ron through the portal as all of them are in rather foul moods. Camila rolls her eyes as Ron stumbles over the corner of the carpet. "Bloody get a grip." She mutters lowly.

Hermione and Kate look up from their books by the fire as they see the three approaching. "How was practice?" Hermione asks them.

"It was-" Harry begins.

"Completely lousy." Ron finishes.

"Well, it was only your first one." Hermione reasons. "It's bound to take time to-"

"Who said it was me who made it lousy?" Ron snaps. Hermione looks up at him with an annoyed expression.

"No one, Ronald. I thought-"

"You thought I was bound to be rubbish?"

"Don't snap at her like that." Camila huffs out. "Stop being defensive to hide your insecurities."

Hermione looks at her girlfriend now with a curious face, wondering where this conversation is about to go.

"What are you saying? Are you saying I should be insecure about the type of rubbish broom I got? Or is it how I made Katie's nose bleed which caused practice to be cut short?" His face turns red in anger. "Or what about the time I missed every shot thrown at me while Malfoy and his goons chanted insults at me!"

Camila raises her eyebrow and crosses her arms. "I didn't say you SHOULD be insecure about anything." She says. "You're the one who let all those bloody stupid Slytherin's get to your head. Maybe practice wouldn't have been rubbish and maybe Angelina wouldn't have yelled at you if you could just block that shit out!"

"Maybe you should just spit it out and tell
me you think I suck already!" Ron yells.

"I'm not saying that! Stop putting words in my bloody mouth!"

"That's enough!" Hermione yells, standing up. At this point Kate has sunken farther and farther into the couch and Harry has been anxiously playing with some lose threads on the carpet with his feet.

"Ron, I don't think you suck. I know you're good, I've seen you play hundreds of times in your yard. But the second Malfoy and his minions walked onto the pitch, you lost any ability to function. All I'm saying if you've got to learn to block out stuff like that." Camila says much calmer.

"Whatever, I'm going to start homework." Ron stomps off.

"That bloody prick." Camila rolls her eyes.

"I thought you and Ron were getting along better lately." Harry comments after a few seconds.

"I thought so too." Camila says flatly. "I don't understand why he gets so defensive."

Hermione sighs and grabs Camila's hand before sitting them down on the couch.

"Is it bad that I wanted to grab a box of popcorn during that?" Kate says.

Camila smiles and shakes her head. "Of course you did, you're always here for the drama if you just get to watch it."

"Cam, you get pretty defensive too, my Love." Hermione says calmly. Camila flashes her an offended look.

"He was yelling at you, Hermione! And you did nothing wrong! Was I just suppose to listen to him- oh I'm proving your point here aren't I?" Camila says sheepishly. Hermione gives her a small smile and nods. "Sorry." Camila mumbles.

"Hermy, can I read your essay on Jupiter? For fun?" Kate asks shyly.

Hermione smiles at her adoringly and nods. "Yeah go ahead, I know you love astronomy."
