Chapter Seventeen: The Power of the Mind- 1995
Camila sits in the chair, panting slightly, staring at Snape with a tired look. "Please, not again." She whines.
"Goldstein, you must block me out. You don't want me infringing on your precious personal life, do you?" He sneers before pointing his black wand at her again. "Legilimens!"
Camila and Severus watch Camila sneaking off with Hermione after class to an empty classroom. Hermione is sat on a desk with Camila standing between her legs. Hermione pulls Camila closer by her tie and smashes their lips together. Camila grips Hermione's waist before slowly slipping her hands under her shirt.
"That's private!" Camila yells, blocking Snape from seeing any further.
"So, little miss perfect Granger isn't so perfect after all." Snape purses his lips.
Camila looks at her teacher with livid eyes. "That's disgusting! Looking into my mind for that! You're a grown man and my teacher! This is abuse!"
"You think the Dark Lord or any other foes of yours will care what they see?" He snaps back.
"You're not my enemy! So don't look there!"
Snape narrow this eyes before pointing his wand again. "Legilimens!"
Camila is back at her hometown in Cornwall. She's smiling as she backs her boat off the dock. Sophie is at the front of the boat with two dogs. There's music blaring.
Camila pushes Snape out of her mind again. "Can we be done now?" She asks impatiently and tiredly.
"Fine, so be it. Practice controlled mind reading before our last meeting until after the Holidays." Snape says quickly and opens his office door. "Out." Camila leaves in a hurry, practically sprinting down the hall.
Once she arrives back in her common room, she falls down on the couch where Hermione is working. Without saying a word, Camila shrugs off her Gryffindor robe and tosses it aside, before curling up and laying her head on Hermione's lap.
Hermione shifts her book over to one side and runs her hand through Camila's hair. "Erm... how did it go?" Hermione asks tentatively.
"It was fine. I blocked him like four times." Camila mumbles.
"You seem upset though."
"Yeah it's pretty tiring and... I don't like him seeing my memories.""What did he see, Love?" Hermione says concerned.
"Nothing too personal except... one memory with us."
Hermione gives a look of horror and disgust. "That has to be illegal! We're minors!" Hermione shouts, causing Camila to groan.
"I pushed him out as quickly as I could." Camila mumbles, closing her eyes. "He wants me to practice controlled mind reading, that'll help me not randomly hear other's thoughts."
"Okay, you can practice on me sometime." Hermione says before turning back to her book. She lets Camila dose off on her lap for a while. The crackling of the fire and the scratching of quills on parchment lure Camila in a deep sleep.
Hermione checks her watch a while later and sees it's nearly time for the DA meeting. Hermione closes book and gently shakes Camila. "Cam, we've got the meeting." She says quietly. Camila slowly opens her eyes and looks up at her girlfriend. Hermione smiles down and kisses her nose, making Camila give her a smile of her own.
They head to the Room of Requirement together, and see a handful of people already there. Camila goes off on her own when her captain comes over to her. "Camila, good news!" Angelina squeals. "I found a seeker!"
