Chapter Fifteen: The Tale of the Lion and the Serpent

Camila looks at the headmaster with a look of anger and determination in her eye. She waits rather impatiently for the old man to say something to her, but he simply sits behind his desk and smiles back at her with his usual calm demeanor.

"Why haven't you told me anything? Why did my cousin tell me more about my prophecy than you have? I deserve to know who I am. I want answers, Professor and I don't want to have to wait till next week for you to tell me just another ounce of information." She nearly yells, not even thinking about potential consequence of talking to the headmaster the way she just did. Ever since Camila's conversation with Anthony the previous night, she has been consumed in anger.

"The truth is, Camila." The old wizard surprises the Gryffindor with her first name. "I cannot say with one hundred percent certainty that you are the Goldstein of the prophecy."

Camila scoffs. "So what, can you only be ninety five percent sure?"

Dumbledore smiles. "Yes, just about that much." Camila however does not smile back. "I apologize, Camila. I tend to withhold information in fear of overwhelming or scaring people, especially when they are still only just young students."

Camila sighs and takes a seat at one of the chairs in front of the desk. "Okay, fine. I guess that's... somewhat considerate, however I don't want you to hide stuff now."

"Alright, I do feel as though you need to start your lessons with Professor Snape next Monday-"

"What? More potions?" Camila says confused.

"No, not potions, and from what I can tell, you don't need much extra practice in that subject." He smiles again. "Occulmency and legilimency lessons. Professor Snape is incredibly skilled at these two types of magic. In fact, I would argue, he's better than I am. Now then... I must request that you do not share with Harry Potter anything about our meetings."

Camila looks taken back by his request. "Uhh, why? I mean I don't know if I would anyway but-"

"it's to protect both you and him and everyone else you two love and care about. The less you two know of each other's information regarding prophecies and Lord Voldemort, the less he can use your minds to get information that would benefit him."

Camila nods. "I see... but what about Hermione. She's close to both of us, Harry and I tend to tell her everything we're going through."

"Ms. Granger has already put herself in a position of great threat by befriending the two of you. However, I would not want to take away a special confidante for Harry and you. For now, it's okay to talk to Ms. Granger, you can tell your other friends as well, however they must all know not to tell Harry anything."

"Alright, I can do that."

"Very well then. I think it's best to start with your wand. Around ten centuries ago, Godric Gryffindor was born and grew to be one of the most powerful wizards in our history. A well-accomplished wand maker forged his wand with the branch of a gargantuan pine tree that was perched upon Mount. Ben Nevis, the tallest mountain found not only in Scotland, but the United Kingdom. Not only is Mount. Ben Nevis the tallest mountain of its land, but deep within the mountain one would find a powerful colony of goblins."

"Professor, now this is starting to sound like The Hobbit." Camila smiles as she sits on the edge of her seat, feeling enthralled by Dumbledore's tale.

"Im sure J.R.R. Tolkien grabbed inspiration from this story." The headmaster chuckles. "As I was saying... these goblin's had an entire network within the mountain and beyond it. The tunnels traveled far out under the Earth. It was in entire world of itself, filled with treasures the goblins would mine for. Lots and lots of gold, more gold than all that lies within Gringotts. The goblins found gemstones too, not just metals."
