Chapter Three: Something's in the Air -1995

I wake from noise in the kitchen. I've always been a light sleeper, so everything wakes me up. I sigh softly and open my eyes. I'm met with the ceiling as I'm laying on my back. Hermione is curled up into my side with her face tucked into my neck. I smile widely and bring my arm to hug her a gently. I move my legs around a little, closing my eyes again, and smile wider when I  feel her arm squeeze around me a little tighter.

"Hey, love birds, time for breakfast." Ginny says in the bed over.

"Mmm I'm quite comfortable, thank you." A muffled voice says.

Ginny groans annoyed. "Great, I really had to room with you two."

"And what's that suppose to mean, Ginvera?" I say matter-of-factly.

"It means, I better not catch you two snogging in here... or worse..."

"Ginny!" Hermione protests, shooting up, making me grumble. I look at the flustered brunette sitting up in bed now.

"I'm JUST saying!" Ginny gets out of bed with her arms up in surrender. "I don't wanna see it!" She says over her shoulder, walking out of the bedroom and to the bathroom down the hall.

I take a deep breath in and hold it, looking around awkwardly. Hermione looks down at me with a quirked eyebrow. "What?"

"Uhhh.." I blow air out of my mouth and say incoherent words. "Nothing...."

Hermione sighs and slowly lays back down again, taking the same position as before. "I wasn't joking, you're quite comfortable."

I smile yet again and blush. "Thanks." I mumble. My hungry stomach breaks our comfortable silence. "Uhh... maybe we should get up though..."

Hermione laughs and slowly picks herself back up. We get out of the bed as Ginny comes back. "Have fun in there, Love Birds." She winks. Both me and Hermione's jaws drop. "Okay, that's enough!" I yell, pushing Ginny a little. She pushes me back, making me push her again.

"Right... you guys have fun with that." Hermione says plainly and goes into the bathroom. I tackle Ginny to her bed and give her an annoyed look. "What's with all the teasing? Are you trying to make it obvious I like her?" I say worriedly.

Ginny looks up at me and gives me a knowing look. "Mila, I think the feeling is mutual between you two."

I huff and get off Ginny before sitting next to her. "Why? Has she said anything?"

Ginny chuckles. "She hasn't stopped talking about you... I don't think she realizes how much she talks about you actually. But she would say how she misses studying in the library with you, talking to you about SPEW, helping you with homework, having your movie and TV nights, she's even been listening to a lot of Taylor and Olivia because of you... oh you should have seen her when we were all informed on you and Harry's expulsion. She was absolutely livid at the Ministry and freaking out that you had in encounter with a dementor."

"I mean..." I smile once again. "That doesn't exactly prove anything..."

"Well... she did say something else that was a bit sus..." Ginny trails off. "One night we were talking about you and Bridget and Hermione said that you would be better with a girlfriend like her..."

"Wait, she said she wanted to be my girlfriend?!" I freak out.

"Well... uh no... she said someone who is LIKE her..." Ginny says slowly.

I narrow my eyes and give my best friend a confused look. "Um... what is THAT suppose to mean?!"

Ginny is about to say something, but stops herself when Hermione opens up the bedroom door again. Ginny and I look at each other slightly scared before we both rush down for breakfast.
