Oh Brother

"You'll be fine."

"What are you talking about?" England barked.

Germany gave him a small smile, taking hold of the Brit's hands. "Your hands are shaking a little, you're nervous."

England huffed, turning back towards the door and pulling away one of his hands to knock. It wasn't long before they were greeted by the familiar face of Prussia, with his usual, prideful grin. "Took you two long enough," He quipped, stepping away from the door to let the two lovers in. Despite the welcoming atmosphere and the cheerful voice of their host, England couldn't help but feel something was off. That, someone, was watching him. Germany gave his hand a squeeze most likely picking up on his uneasiness.

They were led to the dining room where a dinner of sausages, schnitzel, potato salad, and more awaited them. "You really went all out," Germany commented as they took their seats.
"Nothing but the best for my brother...and his boyfriend," Prussia mused. The dark look in his eye told something different though it only seemed to be the only one to see it. Since Germany didn't notice, England just brushed it off, chalking it up to nerves playing tricks on him.

As they ate, Prussia asked them questions, most of them surrounding their relationship. "Okay, okay. Arthur made the first move, but what about the kiss? You guys have kissed right?" Prussia asked, clearly getting into this.

Germany rolled his eyes. "Really Bruder?"

"Come on West, I missed all the good stuff. Plus, that's what older siblings are for: advice and being nosy."

Normally England would be uncomfortable with all these questions, but the reaction Germany had to each one more than made up for it. "We have kissed," Arthur interjected, "And before you asked I kissed him."

"Yeah, when you were drunk and I was unsuspecting."

Prussia let out a laugh, "How romantic. You confess and have your first kiss when drunk. Sounds like Arthur though."

"Hey watch it," England growled, his previous uneasiness long forgotten. The rest of the dinner went along just like this, Prussia teasing them and asking them questions, stories being shared, laughs erupting every so often (even from Germany). It was quite pleasant, so much so England felt silly he was worried in the first place. Things were going splendidly, that was until Germany's phone buzzed.
"It's Feliciano," he sighed, "probably wondering how everything is going. Mind if I take this?"

Prussia gave him a dismissive wave. "Go ahead West. Tell little Feli I say hi!"

And so Prussia and England were left alone in the dining hall. When he turned his attention back to the other man, the grin Prussia had been sporting all night fell. "Now that it's just us," Prussia began, "we need to have a little chat."

All at once, England's nerves returned and Prussia stalked over to him. "Wh-What do you mean?"

"I know we've been friends in the past and we've looked out for each other, but Ludwig will always come first."

"Of course, but why-" Their noses were practically touching, making England feel much smaller.

"So let me give you a warning. I know you and how you can be, so if you hurt my baby Bruder, I'll hurt you."

As those words left Prussia's mouth, England couldn't help but shudder at the threat. Prussia may have become weakened in recent years, but he still managed to hang on to his intimidation abilities. The way his face hardened, the voice commanded and the sheer venom in his words left even the former British Empire quaking.

Luckily, he was soon saved from the intense gaze as Germany returned. "What's going on here?"

Prussia's usual grin returned and he turned his attention towards his brother. "Oh, nothing. Arthur and I were just having a little talk, nothing more."

Germany gave him a skeptical look, but nonetheless took his place next to Arthur once more. When Prussia was distracted by one of his little chicks coming by to say hello, Germany took the opportunity to comfort England since he was pretty sure he knew what this 'little talk' his lover and brother had. "Don't mind him. He just worries too much about me sometimes," he stated, taking hold of England's hand once more.

"I-I wasn't."

Germany gave him a fond smile and placed a kiss on England's temple. Although England would never admit it out loud, Germany was right, but now that he was here he could relax once more.
Not long after that drama, the evening came to an end and the lovers and Prussia had to retire to their rooms. But before parting, Germany gave a warning to his brother, "I would appreciate it if you wouldn't try to scare my boyfriend." With that, they parted ways with the two lovers retiring to their room, England blushing all the way.
