Sick Day Part 3

     "So..."     

     "So?"     

     After the drink, things got awkward. Really awkward. What did I expect though? Germany and I barely talk. When we do it's about business and international affairs. I told him he could go home, but he was insistent on staying to make sure I was okay. He can be really sweet at times despite how tough he appears. Well at least we have an excuse not to talk, I'm sick after all and just want some quiet.     

     As I feel myself nod off, I hear a low humming. I turn over to find Germany scrolling through his phone, humming softly to himself. It was...nice. I swear I heard the song before, but I couldn't quite figure it out.      

     "I didn't know you could sing," I croaked. He froze up with bright red cheeks. "Please, don't stop, it's beautiful. The song and your voice."     

     "Um...thank you," Germany mumbled, looking away.      "What's the name of the song?"     "Oh... it's...it's just a little something from The Sound of Music. Edelweiss"      

     "God how could I forget. America would not stop singing the soundtrack after the movie came out. Though he avoided that song. Too nice I guess." Without thinking I reached a hand out to take Germany's. "Anyway. I may regret this whole thing once my fever goes down, but...could you sing it for me love?"     

     "Uh...sure," he said tightly, gripping my hand back. Catching his breath, he began his song. It was even more beautiful in German. Despite what many would say, it is actually a nice language, especially when he used it. As he sang I felt my eyelids grow heavy and soon, I was fast asleep.

Author's  Note: Gosh I've been gone for awhile. Life got a bit busy for a hot minute (once again, school has been busy with the system we are on for Covid) and I got a horrible case of writer's block (surprise, surprise). Like I literally started 3 fics for this collection, but I could not finish the two others. But I managed to pop out this one. Also happy belated Hetalia Day (October 24th). Another note, did you guys hear that Hetalia is most likely getting a second season and some more manga? There was a bunch of stuff going around twitter and I'm pretty sure some concept art for season 7 is out there. Just thought I would share!
