So I leave for vacation tomorrow and I realized I didn't post an update to this or "In the Deep" last Sunday and I feel bad not posting for another two weeks so I'll share my GerEng entries for the Germany ship week I was doing this week.

Prompt: Early Morning

He got up before Ludwig for once which was a surprise. To a normal person, it was a gloomy morning with cloudy skies and light rain, but Arthur found it calming. The pitter-pattering of the drops alone would be enough to lull Arthur to sleep once more, but he was too busy admiring the sleeping face beside him. It was rare to see Ludwig so calm and his body relaxed, but when he was fast asleep like this he looked peaceful. No furrowed brows, no frowning, just a resting face with his lips slightly parted and hair unkempt for once. Arthur felt so lucky to see such a sight.

For a few minutes, he just laid there, admiring his lover and listening to his breathing, but eventually, he decided it was best to get up. He quickly threw on one of Ludwig's hanging-out shirts and made his way downstairs to the kitchen. He debated starting on breakfast, but eventually decided against it knowing that it would only end in flames and Arthur owing Ludwig a new kitchen. So instead, he settled on making them tea. A chamomile for Ludwig and an Earl Grey for himself, what better way to start the morning?

When he returned to the bedroom, Ludwig was sitting up in bed with a dazed look in his eyes. He must have just woken up. Arthur found himself smiling at the image. "Good morning love," he greeted taking a seat on the bed once more.

"Arthur the sheets," Ludwig complained, voice groggy from sleep. That man and his need for everything to be clean.

"Oh please, you never spill and I'll be careful. And if something happens, I'll wash them." Ludwig's brows knitted together in concern, much to Arthur's disappointment, but at least Ludwig gave in to his request, taking his tea and seating himself against the headboard. Arthur mimicked him, pulling the blanket up to their waists before sipping away at his hot beverage. When Ludwig's face remained tense and concerned, Arthur found himself reaching over with his free hand to try to smooth out the crease in between the German's brows. Though Ludwig was confused at first he quickly caught on and a smile spread across his lips at Arthur's antics.

"Danke," Ludwig muttered, bringing his mug to his lips, "I think I could get used to waking up like this."

"Don't get too used to it. I am not getting up before 7:00 am thank you."

Ludwig let out a chuckle at that one making Arthur turn to mush which only made Ludwig laugh more. With an annoyed shove from Arthur, he stopped, though his smile never left his face. "That's not what I meant, but now that you mention it..."

"Ludwig."

"Okay, okay. But...i-if I'm being honest...I meant...I-I'm just happy to wake up beside you."Arthur felt his whole face heat up at the comment as his mind short-circuited. "Oh," was all he could manage to get out.

"How about you?" Ludwig asked, his smile falling a little (Arthur assumed it was probably from his lack of reply).

"W-Well...I-I...I would very much like waking up beside you as well."

Ludwig gave him another smile, snaking an arm around Arthur's shoulder and pulling him into his side. "But not the tea in bed," Ludwig teased, putting his now empty mug to the side.Arthur followed suit, having also finished. "You're no fun."

Ludwig only sighed, slinking down into a lying position once more and pulling Arthur onto his chest. He placed a playful kiss on the Brit's nose whispering a soft, but loving "I love you." Those words were quickly swallowed by Arthur's lips meeting his own.

"I." A kiss. "Love." Another kiss. "You too," Arthur eventually got out between the lip-locking. His hands found their way into Ludwig's hair, combing through it as they continued to kiss each other breathless. Arthur didn't want the moment to end, but eventually, Ludwig pulled his hand up to Arthur's mouth as a signal to stop. Arthur placed one more kiss onto the German's palm before burying his face into Ludwig's chest.

"Really Arthur?" Ludwig huffed, "We have to get up,"

"No, we don't. You don't have work, I don't have work. We can stay in bed a little while longer. All day if we like."

Ludwig rolled his eyes. "Arthur. I needed to get started on breakfast." Arthur only shook his head, burying himself into Ludwig's chest even further. "I swear, I'll shove you on the floor."

Arthur's head snapped up so he was face-to-face with Ludwig. "You wouldn't"

Those cool blue eyes hardened as he threw back, "Try me."

A few minutes of intense staring later, Arthur finally got up, pecking on the forehead. "Fine, but I'm helping."

Ludwig gave him a smirk. "I can work with that. Oh and Arthur?" He pulled himself up wrapping his arms around his lover's waist, pulling the man closer to whisper, "that shirt suits you." With that, Ludwig strode out of the room, though Arthur was able to catch his red cheeks. Arthur himself was left behind with his own heated cheeks as she tried to calm his breathing before joining Ludwig downstairs.
