Sick Day Part 2

When England awoke, he found himself in a dark room. He tried to lift himself up, but the pounding of his head kept him down. Despite his headache, his mind raced. He didn't know where he was, he couldn't recall how he got there or what happened before all this. He tried to will himself up in hopes of answers, but his body refused to move. His body ached almost as much as his head.

England's growing panic was heightened by a ray of light seeping into the room. Someone was coming. The someone who brought him here. The wars had been over for a while now, but England never lost that paranoia of an enemy attack. His mind immediately thought 'the enemy' and he had to survive whatever was about to happen. But that was going to be hard, after all, he could barely move.

"England? Are you awake?" a familiar, accented voice asked. He knew that voice all too well, but surprisingly, the voice put him a bit more at ease.

     "Yes... Just a little..."

     "Sick?"

"Not exactly what I was going to say...but I suppose so"

Germany placed his hand on England's head, "Your fever is still pretty high. Can I open the window?" England really didn't want any light right at that moment but..." Some fresh air would be good for you," Germany said, interrupting England's thoughts.

He gave a small nod and Germany parted the curtains and cracked the window open a bit. The warm rays of the sun streamed in, making England's headache slightly worse, but the fresh air was very much welcomed.

"So..." England tried once more to heave himself up, "What the hell happened?" Germany rushed over to England, and gently pushed him back down.

"Please don't get up," Germany pleaded, face growing red, "if you need anything just ask me."

England groaned, "fine, but you didn't answer my question."

The other nation turned away, his face getting even redder. "I don't think you'd want to know that."

"Oh god, what did you do?"

     "Nothing...terrible."

     "Germany."

"Before I say anything. Nobody saw I promise you,"

     England rolled his eyes, "Germany!"

     "I...um...kind of had to....carry...you...here"

     "You WHAT?"

"What? Would you rather I have left you on the floor of the meeting hall?"

England attempted to retort, but could not come up with an argument. At least it was Germany who was there, not France or America. "I'm sorry England, but you needed to get home. You're clearly sick."

England buried himself into his covers as embarrassment (and pain) set in. "I'm sorry," England mumbled, "I...I shouldn't have gotten so.... frustrated." Germany was taken aback. He didn't expect an apology. If anything, Germany felt as though he should apologize again. Afterall, he would be a little embarrassed and angered if he was in England's position.

"Stop overthinking," England cut in. "You're fine." England shifted his eyes, "thank you...for...bringing me home."

     "You...You're welcome."

"Now... what's going on with the meeting?"

"I canceled it. Well, I postponed it for a few days. I felt as though the hosting nation should be present-" Germany paused, not sure if he should say what he was about to, "I also wanted to make sure you were going to be cared for. S-So I stayed."

England felt his cheeks get warm (and not from fever). "Thank you" he whispered. He shook his head, trying to get his feelings under control. "If it's not too much trouble, could you get me some water?"

     "Oh...of course."

Author's Note: Gosh this took awhile. School got kind of busy and then there was the writer's block (again). But I finally did it! Sorry if some areas feel rushed or choppy. I just really wanted to get the story out, but I couldn't figure out how to get to certain points (which tends to be my biggest issue when write these things). Anyway, I hope you enjoy and there will be a part 3 of this story!
