After The Sunset

Cede pestered me by offering his help which I refused several times. Tumigil lang siya nang sabihin ko na magtatanggal lang naman ako ng alikabok at hindi naman magbubuhat ng mabigat. He insisted on doing it himself but I ended up pushing him to the kitchen to cook for us. Wala na siyang nagawa dahil doon.

It was lunch time when I was done with the cleaning. Nagwalis at nag-mop na rin ako. I'll just clean the whole house later after lunch. He can arrange his things by then. When I left the room, the aroma of food greeted me. My mouth watered with that. Before I could go near to him, I stopped immediately when I heard him talking to someone on the cellphone.

"I just found a permanent place to stay. There's nothing to worry about.." wika ni Cede habang abala sa paglalagay ng plato. Nakatago ako para hindi niya muna ako makita. 

"I'll be fine. Don't worry. I'm not a kid anymore" sabi pa niya. Sino kaya ang kausap nito?

"Of course I'll visit you when I can. Kung gusto mo isama ko pa siya. Yun ay kung papayag siya na sumama sa akin" he chuckled after saying that. Maybe he's talking about his girlfriend?

"I love you too. Take care" Saka lang ako nagpakita sa kanya pagkatapos ng tawag.

"You're done?" he asked.

"Yeah.."

"Let's eat! I cooked your favorite chicken nuggets. I also cooked Choupseuy" sabi pa niya. Linagay ko muna sa tabi iyong timba pati na rin ang mop, walis at dust pan na hawak ko. I washed my hands first before sitting on the chair in front of him. 

"Thank you for the food" sabi ko sa kanya. Kumuha na ako ng kanin at ulam. He helped get some chicken nuggets before putting some choupseuy on my plate. We ate silently. His cooking improved I must say. It's better than before! Kaya nakarami ako sa luto niya. Halos ako lang ang kumain ng chicken nuggets. Not minding if he got some for him. After all, I believe that he cooked it for me. 

When we were done eating, I offered to wash the dishes but he refused. So, I had to rest for a while before cleaning again. Nang makita niya na may dala akong feather duster ay kaagad naman siyang nagtanong.

"You're cleaning?" tanong niya nang makita ako.

"Yeah. I just cleaned your room but I need to clean the whole house"

"Let me help you"

"You can just sweep and mop the floor when I'm done. Well, you can also remove the spider's webs above the ceiling.." I said giving him ideas on what he can do to help me. He just nodded. We finished cleaning earlier than expected. This is much better than cleaning the whole house alone...I guess. I left Cede in the living room so I can have my shower. After the shower, I locked myself inside my room to watch an episode of Grey's Anatomy. 

It was already six in the evening when I decided to go outside my room. I planned to have  a walk but I became too tired because of cleaning. I saw Cede's eyes fixed on the television. He's watching some kind of documentary. He's now changed into a white shirt and black shorts. 

"Hey..." he said when he saw me.

"What do you like for dinner?" I asked. He cooked lunch earlier so I might as well cook dinner for us. I don't want him to feel like I'm making him my slave just because he's living with me now.

"Don't bother cooking. I already ordered pizza and fries. You can just join me here while we're waiting for it" 

"I'll just drink some water" dumiretso ako sa kusina para kumuha ng baso. I then proceeded to the ref to get the pitcher filled with water. Nang malagyan ko ang baso ko ay kaagad ko itong ininom. I washed the glass first before going back to the living room.
