It was a full moon. In the cool shadow of the dark everything appeared peaceful. Jiang Cheng lay in the tub, exposed from head to toe while long fingers coursed through his wet hair, massaging his scalp with the utmost care. Occasionally he opened his eyes to stare at the man above him. Lan Xichen only smiled when their eyes met and kept going.

While Sect Leader Lan returned to Gusu to rebuild alongside his brother, Lan Lihua agreed that Jiang Cheng would have a safer delivery in QingheNie. Hence, Lan Xichen went back and forth between Sects.

Two times a day, seven days a week, Lan Xichen took the ritual of bathing and pampering his mate seriously. Unless he was in Gusu, seeing to his plans, he remained by his wife. Jiang Cheng is almost at full term and they will welcome the newest addition to the family any day from now.

"Xichen."

"Yes, Wanyin."

" Any news about your brother?", Jiang Cheng held on as he was carried out of the tub. "Wangji is safe for now...You're worried about him?"

 "Shouldn't I be?", Jiang Cheng sat still to be wiped clean and dried up.

"He will join us soon Wanyin, so will yours."

Those words dampened Jiang Cheng's mood further."Forget about my brother, he's the least of our worries now.", he said. Wei Ying put a gap between them when he left Qinghenie months ago. Wanyin felt it each time Yanli contacted Wen Qing.

Xichen picked out a pair of blue pyjamas and approached the bed. "Wanyin... I know you're upset with Master Wei but it's not his fault if he can't help. You said it yourself, he would go any length to protect his family."

"I know... And I wish there was a way to snap him out of that hero complex. Its madness. Wei Ying cannot save everyone and the sooner he sees this, the better.", Jiang Cheng touched his partner's hand, "I'm glad you're here.", he said with a curve on his lips.

"Me too my dear... Now let's get you to sleep."

"Not yet.", Jiang Cheng traced Xichen's jawline, wanting to fill in for all the lost times. Kissing Xichen was a blessing and Jiang Cheng counted it after nearly losing his beloved. Lan Xichen climbed the bed, allowing nothing more than a kiss. No matter how loud Jiang Cheng grumbled, Xichen wrapped his arms around his mate and hummed him to sleep.

Lan Wangji acclimatized to his new environment thanks to his old nemesis.

"You look good in black.", Xue Yang tossed him a jacket.

But Lan Wangji was grateful for the fact that they were on the same page.

"You heard right, Wei Ying will be killed eventually. Sucked dry of his divine ability till he turns to dust. It will be faster for him because his genes are tinted with humanity. Let's just say our ancestors are way better than us genetically."
