We were on the next plane within twenty minutes. I was eternally grateful that we had no delays or plane troubles. Avery's hand was still laced with mine, since I wasn't ready to let go. I don't think I ever would be. I had to fight her, but I managed to get the window seat this time. She fell asleep almost instantly when I told her the time. Right now, it was only five forty- five, and we had just taken off.

We had underestimated time just a little though. We would land in Madrid, Spain in about eight hours, so about two in the afternoon. This bus will pick us up, and drive six hours, directly to our hotel in Lisbon at about eight. Which basically leaves us to either unpack and get settled in, or just be lazy and go to bed. Mr. Evens said that tomorrow will be a full on exploration day starting after lunch.

Someone poked at my shoulder, leaving my thought somewhere else.

“ Psst!” Light green eyes poked up from above the seat to my right, a little ways back.

“ What?” I hissed at the stranger.

“ Come here. I want to show you something.” Her blond curls split across her shoulders, leaving the rest of it to fall down her back, half way.

“ What do you want, Cindy.” I almost yelled at her.

“ What? I can't have a nice conversation with my ex?” She smirked at me, leaning closer and closer with each word she spoke.

“ Stop. I know what you're doing, and it isn't going to work.” I was this close to just plain yelling at her face. Se had ruined just about every relationship I had, due to complete, stupid jealousy, which I don't get at all, because she broke up with me.

“ You want it to work, though. I can see it in you eyes.” She smiled, leaning closer, trying ot steal a kiss.

“ No. I'm with Avery now. You now that. You can't ruin this too.” I spit with each word as I stormed off.

I could picture the red face and angry scold she was giving the back of my head. When I sat down next to Avery, I grabbed her in a bear hug, making sure Cindy had seen. I nuzzled my nose in her neck and kissed it, gently. She let out a soft moan, just waking up.

“ Good morning, beautiful.” I cooed to her. Her teeth showed through her sweet smile.

“ Morning, handsome.” She replied.

“ I-” I stopped, not wanting to say what I was about to say. It had only been what... three, four days? But I had loved her all my life. I wanted to say it so bad, but stopped myself. “ I have to go to the bathroom...” I trailed off, climbing over her from the window seat, ending up glaring at Cindy the whole time I was walking to the back. I stood in the bathroom, running the faucet, pretending like I was washing my hands for about a minute, the unlocked the door, sighing.

Get over yourself. You might still have feelings for Cindy, but you're with Avery now. Get over the past. Sure she was fun in bed, but that's it. Avery might be the one. I told myself. I blocked out Cindy from my mind, letting myself daydream about Europe tonight, all the way to my seat. When I returned, I found an occupied Avery, staring down at her laptop.

“ Whatcha doin?” I climbed over her to get to my seat and plopped down in the comfy blue seat.

“ Looking for our hotel. Look at this! It's beautiful.” She urged me to stare at the computer screen with the same bewildered eyes she had only a second ago.

“ That's not in Portugal...” I pointed out, looking at the address bar.

“ Duh. This is Hotel 41 in London. The best hotel in the city. Look!” I took the laptop from her and scrolled through the three hundred pictures of the hotel. There was black and white everywhere, laced with touches of gold. I went to one picture of a bed with rose petals in the shape of a heart, like it had been pulled straight out of a professional magazine.

“ Wow.” I kept clicking the right arrow button, amazed by the five star rated beauty. “ We're really staying here?

“ Yeah! The School program is covering the costs of each hotel, so we can stay at any one we want. Mr. Evens finally pulled out a good idea from that empty little head of his.” I laughed at her statement.

She laced her hand in mine and took the computer back, shoving a headphone in my ear.

Fall For You by Secondhand Serenade came on as she set her head down between my neck and shoulder blade, right where it needed to be.

I woke up, her head still on my neck, and her body limp with drowsiness. Her chest moved up and down in a perfect pattern. I could feel every move she made, so when she woke up and adjusted herself to face me, it wasn't hard to know what she was trying to do. I shut my eyes and leaned in, as I had done so many times in the past few days. Her lips met mine as my hand found it's place at the bottom of her back. I let out a noise that I haven't made in a while and she laughed. But it wasn't the warm, kind laugh I hear daily... It was empty, and cold, and fake...

My eyes shot open and the blond was the first thing I saw. It entangled me with it, suffocating me, bringing me into a dark bliss. I was stuck... Again. And I kind of didn't mind...

I shot up, leaving Avery behind me. I paced for a minute and somehow, ended up back in the bathroom.

Get a hold of yourself... I knew I still had feelings for Cindy, I just didn't know how big they were until I couldn't have her...

A weak knock came from the other side of the door.

“ Collin...” Her voice rang through the thin door. “ Let me in.”

I obediently unlocked the door and let Cindy in, not feeling like myself.

“ Hi-” I was cut off by the sound of the lock doing it's job and her lips on mine. It was the kiss I missed, but had regretted. It was almost... like I needed it, and wanted it. My mind went blank and I kissed her back. I kissed her back...
