“ I don't want to deal with this crap right now. Becca!”
“ Please, I'm not asking you to forgive me... I'm just asking you to understand... I was drunk-” He pleaded.
“ So was I, but you didn't see me kissing another guy!” But I did...
“ I'm sorry! I just... didn't want to hurt you and...” He looked up.
“ Well, you did. I'm done with this...” I swallowed hard and looked at my hands.
“ Aves...” I looked back up at him.
“ Don't call me that... Just please. Go.” He turned to walk away, but I felt the need to make him feel worse than he already did...
“ I just hope you know that we- whatever we were- is done.” He didn't turn around.
The door clicked shut as I let the dam holding my tears break. Stupid... I hate him, yet he can still make me cry.
I thought about what happened last night, trying to piece parts together. The strobe lights, and drinks. The black, still unidentified drink Ed and I both had. The race to his door. Then the sex. That was the only part that was fuzzy to me. I remember going into his flat, but never remember coming out. I remember parts, like the little kisses he placed all over my stomach and neck and arms... Wait! My arms... When we were at the bar last night, before we left, he wrote his number on my arm. I pulled up the sleeve of the shirt I changed into after Collin came in and searched my arm for any sign of the pen marks. I just had to take a shower! Ugh. I finally saw the hint of black ink and went to get my phone, but it wasn't there.
“ Seriously!?!” I left my phone at his flat... Dammit! I wrote the number down on a piece f paper then ran out the door, in search of Becca.
It was about noon, so I took a wild guess, saying she might be in the restaurant downstairs.
“ Becca! We need to go...” She was sitting at a table with Tim, Xanthee, Collin, and slutbag.
“ What's wrong, Avery?” Cindy asked with a smile on her face.
“ I still have another slap in me if you need one.” I glared at her with a death stare. “ Listen up, bitch. I'm not taking your shit anymore. I hope you and Collin are happy together. Right now, I don't have time for your kid games, so fuck off. Okay?” She rolled her eyes and looked up at Collin, expecting him to stand up for her.
“ Let's go.” Becca said, grabbing her purse.
“ I need to go to Ed's. I left my phone... and my dress...” I remembered that his Beetles shirt was sitting in a hamper somewhere with a puke stain on it.
“ That wasn't so smart, now was it?” She said.
“ Neither was sleeping with him...” I countered.
“ Yeah, that wasn't your best idea...” She said.
We walked all the way down the block and to the flat I was at last night. The front of it was tall and made of bricks. There were railings on each side and a balcony off of Ed's room. He leaned over it, looking out to the city, and occasionally looking down and writing something in a book.
“ Here goes... Everything.” I said, ready to ring the doorbell.
“ You can come up.” Ed said, obviously seeing us.
“ I just need to get my phone...” He gave a sad look, as if begging me to come up with him.
“ I'll wait here. Go.” Becca said. She pushed me into the door and forced me in to the large room. I made my way up the stairs and around the hall.
“ In here.” Ed called. I followed his voice and found him sitting on the bed.
“ Can you explain to me what exactly happened last night?...” I asked.
“ Well, we went to the land of Oz, and played with Toby the dog...” He smiled and I laughed.
“ Seriously. Other than the fact that we had sex... We did have sex right?” I asked. He shook his head, proving my suspicions. “ And then I left?”
“ I guess. I woke up and you were gone.” He looked down at the book in his hands.
“ What's that?” I asked.
“ My songbook. You can look if you want.” He handed it to me, watching me the whole time. I flipped through the pages, stopping at the last one. Titles for the song were scratched out and messy. The one in big letters at the top was Kiss me. In parenthesis was Avery in bold letters. I inhaled, breathing in a scent I had gotten used to in the past two days. Sweet, rough, sexy...
“ Avery-” He leaned in and kissed me. But it wasn't what I remember feeling. It was gentle and warm and nice. Not empty and meaningless. It was real, and amazing. “ You aren't just a one night stand...” He stopped and wrote that down, leaving my hand touching my lips where his just were.
“ So much more than a one night.” He dropped the book and kissed me again, exactly like the first time. Perfect.
Tell me what ya think? :D
