“ So how many more days are you here?” I asked, hoping she would say more than she did.

“ Two, maybe three. I've lost track of time. To be honest, I don't really care. I just want to be home...” She stared at my songbook, never looking away from her name on the page.

“ Homesick?” I asked.

“ A little. My mom hasn't skyped me in a while and I haven't gotten a respond from anyone's texts. I'm starting to get worried.” I moved closer to her, taking her in. My arm instinctively wrapped around her waist. Her head rose, bringing her nose right next to mine, touching it.

“ Becca is waiting.” She looked into my eyes, asking me to stop, but she didn't stop me.

Our lips met, sending back pictures from last night. I watched her as she slept. The same thoughts came back.

It was about two in the morning, Avery was sleeping. Smoke puffed from ashtray beside me, sending the sweet aroma of weed into my nostrils. Her legs rustled against mine, kicking in her sleep.

Watch yourself Ed... Don't fall for her. You don't need to be hurt again...” I thought to myself.

She's kinda cute... No. She's just good in between the sheets. Hmm...” I remember the exact feeling she gave me. I stared at her forever. Long enough to go through three joints and a beer and a half.

Shit...” I said as I let out a puff of smoke.

I still remember waking up this morning, still in that half- high kind of state.

“ Avery!” A voice called from outside.

“ I'll bet my bum that's Becca.” I said, breaking our kiss.

“ Yeah. I have to go-” I grabbed her arm as she got up.

“ Wait. Please. Let me show you around the city. You've been here how many days? I bet you haven't even gotten to big Ben yet!” She smiled and dropped her hand.

“ Nope. Haven't been to the London Eye, either. Too much drama...” I remember her ex cheating on her. Stupid guy, really. He missed out on a world of wonder.

“ Please. Consider it. Here, where's your phone?” I looked around for the phone.

“ Somewhere by the table. I threw it down on the table, but missed, and it landed on the floor somewhere.” She held my hand to the coffee table by my television set. We both looked around and eventually, I saw the bright blue cased phone.

“ Here ya go.” I typed my number in and handed it back to her.

She took it fast and clicked call, sending my phone into a fit of ring tones.

“ I'll call you later.” I kissed her cheek, and sent her out the door.

When I shut the door, my back slid against it, falling to the floor.

“ Nice going Ed... You let her get to you.”
