*Suicide Mention about halfway through TW
I'm going to start adding these into the start of each chapter if a certain sensitive matter is brought up.
Third Person POV
Despite Holly's brief phone call to Alfred, they were in no position, timewise or practicality, to locate the pinpoint of where the call had come from. So with a new lead from Mackie that directed them to Fish Mooney, Alfred and Harvey made their way to said person's Nightclub. But as it was only around midday, there was practically no one in there, apart from half a dozen dancers who were then leaving the club, sending flirtatious winks and comments towards the two men as they walked in. The only person that they could see when they walked in was a familiar face to Harvey.
"Busy day, Harvey," Butch Gilzean said, getting up from the table he was sat at. "Come back next year."
"Hand to God, Butch, I'll be quicker than a sailor on shore leave," Harvey replied, taking out the picture of Selina as he walked over to the man. "Thief we're tracking down. Look familiar? Goes by Cat." He held up the picture to Butch, who didn't even look at it before answering.
"Nope," Butch answered bluntly.
"Maybe Fish knows her," Harvey said.
"Fish knows everyone. Fish is busy," Butch insisted.
"Works with one of your fences, a new guy," Harvey elaborated.
"What's a fence?" Butch asked in confusion.
"Come on. Butch, be nice. This is important. Where's Fish?" Harvey asked.
"I told you, she's busy," Butch repeated.
"I once knew a fella called Butch," Alfred spoke up from where he was standing quietly, hands clasped behind his back. "Yeah, he was a Whitechapel lad. We called him Butch, you see, because he wasn't. It was a windup. It was like a joke name. In fact, he was a horrible little toerag."
"Wait. I can't tell. Are you—are you threatening me?" Butch asked, humour evident in his voice before he looked over at Harvey. "Is he threatening me?" Alfred took a couple of silent steps closer so that he was merely a foot away. "Heh. Yeah? You gotta—"
Alfred cut him off with a swift sweep of his foot, catching Butch in the back of the leg, sending him falling to the ground. Quickly following him, Alfred crouched down above Butch and held a knife a couple of inches away from the latter's neck.
"Now, where is this Fish?" Alfred asked, his voice shaking slightly with anger after Butch's avoidance of help.
"Right here," a female voice answered from the stairs in the corner of the room.
Alfred looked up at the voice and saw the infamous Fish slowly walking over to the three men. She wore a short bronze dress that reached her mid-thigh. Elaborate copper coloured strips encircled round her waist and neck, giving off the impression of small scales, befitting her name.
"So, what's the fuss?" Fish asked.
"They're just fooling around," Harvey answered, as Alfred offered Butch a hand and pulled him off the ground. "We're looking for this girl. Street thief goes by Cat. Works with one of your fences."
"Looks familiar," Fish commented, looking at the picture. "What's the urgency?"
"Professional killers are looking for her," Harvey answered.
"Professionals, hmm?" Fish repeated. "This wouldn't be the Lovecraft witness, would it?"
"How'd you know?" Harvey asked.
