Third Person POV

Knowing that he was finally following a lead that could actually produce something useful, as Jim followed Dorothy towards the basement, he was having to restrain himself from asking her to hurry up so they could get there quicker, a lot quicker. But eventually they reached the staircase that lead down to the basement and the whole room was covered in plastic sheets as though it hadn't been used for years, which according to Dorothy, it hadn't.

They started to slowly descent down the stairs when suddenly a door slammed shut somewhere behind them, making Dorothy physically jump. Both of them turned to see who or what could have caused that noise.

"What is that?" Dorothy asked, her eyes wide. "Everybody's in their cell."

The sound of heeled footsteps bounced off the Asylum walls but they were quickly claimed by none other than Dr. Lee Thompkins. She stopped at the door to the stairs and looked over at the two of them, a smile forming on her face.

"Dorothy?" Lee asked with a smile. "Jim, hi. What's up?"

"Hi, Leslie," Dorothy said, though Jim picked up the slight nervousness in her voice. "We're going on an adventure to the basement." His suspicions started to escalate when Dorothy slowly walked back up the stairs and towards Lee.

"Oh, well, that sounds fun," Lee replied. "Can I come?"

"No," Jim answered straight away, but tried to play it off when both women stared at him. Something wasn't right about this trip and about Dorothy. If he was just being paranoid, he could accept that, but what Jim couldn't accept was Lee getting hurt because he ignored his suspicions.

"But—" Lee began, but Jim was quick to cut her off.

"Dr. Thompkins, what did I tell you earlier?" Jim reminded her. "You should go home."

"Why? What's wrong?" Lee asked.

"Nothing's wrong," Jim smiled softly before it fell and he looked at her sternly. "Go home."

"I don't under—" Lee was about to become even more confused when her sentence was once again cut off, only this time it was because Dorothy grabbed her jacket and threw her over at Jim, over at the stairs.

"You okay?" Jim asked Lee, steadying her, and making sure she didn't fall down the stairs. Though he tried to be quick as he could hear the sound of Dorothy running down the corridor.

"I'm fine," Lee assured him.

"Ok. I need you to find the main entry guard and tell him to lock down, then get out of the building, quick," Jim instructed the doctor.

"Okay. Hit lockdown, get out. Will do," Lee nodded before they both rushed on in different directions to fulfil their different tasks.

As Jim ran along the corridors trying to find Dorothy, his phone started to ring. So while not stopping to answer it, Jim kept running, rummaging through his pockets at the same time till the familiar coolness of his phone was in his hand.

"Yeah," Jim answered. Now was not the time for his polite phone voice.

"Jim, listen," Harvey's voice said down the phone. "Dorothy Duncan is an inmate."

"I know. Get over here now," Jim replied before hanging up the phone.

He continued following the lengthy corridors, starting to get frustrated that all of them looked exactly the same, but then something even worse happened. Above him, the blaring sound of an alarm started screeching loudly; the inmates had escaped.

Trying to make as little noise as possible, Lee started to head in the direction of the main entry, her hair bouncing off her shoulders as she paced quickly down the corridors. The red flashing light from the alarm was practically blinding her as she ran, but there was no stopping her. Lee ran and ran and ran until she felt her heart stop in her chest.
