Chapter Thirty-Three

William's Farm

One Year Later

Jay's slight fussing made me take a quick break from my painting.  

" Her buddy, what's wrong?" 

" Hungry." He fussed. 

I picked him up and headed downstairs, finding Dina dancing around the kitchen. 

" He's hungry again?" She asked, as I opening the refrigerator door. 

" Yep." 

" You 're growing up too fast for Moma Jay" Dina said taking him out of my arms. 

He giggled. 

I have him a few spoons full of carrets and he waved his arms up and down. 

Dina started to bounce and he started tooting. 

" Little toot toot. Little toot toot." Dina started singing. 

" Peas peas P-" 

" Peas." Jay said. 

" Do you mid putting up the laundry for me?" 

" Nope." 

Dina sat down in her chair, bouncing Jay on her leg.

" Papapotato, he's a little potato." I sang, hanging up Dina's three shirts. 

A breeze started. 

I hung the rest up and went back inside. 

" Hey El." Dina said from the kitchen. 

" Yeah?" I asked. 

" Can you come help me with this?" 

I passed the napping Jay in my painting room. 

" El?" 

" I'm comming." 

I opened our bedroom door to find Dina struggling to get out of a leather outfit. 

" Oh may god." I laughed. 

" Suprise." 

I unzipped the back and it fell off. 

I saw her scars and looked away. 

DIna got dressed. 

" Ellie, DIna?" Tommy said from outside.

" We're coming!" DIna yelled, laughing after putting her cosuume under the bed. 

I went downstairs to find Tommy limping in. 

" Why didn't you tell us you wanted to come?" 

" Because I can get around fine." 

He sat down at the kitchen table, Dina coming down. 

" I hate to ask this, but I don't have a choice." Tommy said. 

" Everything okay?" Dina asked. 

" Yeah, just, a request... and order from Maria." 

Tommy paused again. " You've heard about the expansion mission, right?" 

" Vagley." Dina said, shifting her weight. 

Tommy exhailed. " Maria needs people to join in. With that flue killing people over in Seattle, and our short hands, I really hate to ask this. She wants...needs Ellie to go to Santa Barbra." 

" Can we talk about it, get back to you?" Dina asked. 

" Of course." 

" I'll start on dinner." I said.
