Yara ducked for the fourth time, bearly escaping the view of a WLF soldier.
" We need to get out of here." She said for the fifth time.
" We have to take the lake then. It's our only choice."
I glanced at the seemingly lifeless body of Abby, still staring off into the distance.
" Help me get her in the water."
I went in first as Yara dipped Abby's body into the water.
I took Abby's hand and walked through the neck high water as Abby kicked her legs.
" I'll lead her. Watch our backs." Yara whispered as the gunshots stopped.
We slowly moved against the now slight current, the remaining WLF soldiers started to check to see if there were any Sarafites left.
" Check the lake."
" Yara, we have to go under." I whispered.
Yara put her lips onto Abby's as she took Abby's body and put it under water with hers and I slowly supmerged myself against the bank.
" I don't see anything." A female voice said.
" Shoot into the water, if there's any air bubbles or blood, drop a nade in."
Yara took ahold of Abby's head and held onto it tightly, taking both of them deeper. I followed.
A few bullets in, the women stopped fireing.
" Lets get back. We need to get everything together for the raid on the Island."
I popped my head back up and watch the WLF load back up into their trucks and drive off. I waited, then signaling Yara to come back up.
Yara kept moving Abby down until we hit another set of rapid waves.
Yara took ahold of Abby and rode out the waves with her, I followed.
" Where do you think we are now?" I asked as Yara swam to a dock.
" Where near Anderson Park."
I got out of the water, looking around. tossing a couple of stones to see if there were infected around.
" There's nothing."
Yara turned Abby around and dragged her up as I kept my bow drawn. " All of this wood is wet."
" I'll go find us some shelter. If where near the park, that means where near Capitol hill."
" Take her knife with you."
" Woln't you need it?"
" As long as we stay quiet, nothing will know we're here."
" I'll be back as quickly as possable."
I combed the woods, spotting a swingset.
Glansing over it, an old body was leaned up against it, torn apart, the fungus starting to spread.
Keeping light on my feet, I walked into Capital Hill, instantly coming across a secured house.
I darted back, getting Yara and we moved Abby into the house, securing the house before I went ahead and checked the rest of the buildings. finding no supplies, making me look over the countless bodies that were decaying on the street.
Their cloths were the only thing that was left.
After setting up traps, I returned with the cloths. Abby still hadn't moved a muscle, even as Yara was giving her water.
" I can get some wood from one of the buildings and get some more water. I saw some pans in the kitchen."
I got up and went back outside, ready to get to work.

Yara's P.O.V.
" She's doing better." I whispered to Lev as Abby left the room.
" I havn't seen any Saraphites lately." Lev said, tears in his eyes.
" I know you miss home, but we can't go back. This is our new life. I'm so sorry this had to happen."
" I know, it's just hard to comprehend."
" You have time to morn. We'll be okay."
" We still have the WLF to worry about. Their going to take the land that we had and everything in Seattle. Their not going to stop either."
" We get to a different state and keep going. There has to be more people left."
" I appriciate you trying to make me feel better Yara, but you can't hide the truth from me now. You can't protect me anymore. And it sucks."
I hugged him, planting a kiss on his forhead. " I can try."
Abby came back with water in one of the large cooking potsm sitting putting it over the fire.
" I saw a few groups of Scars out there."
Lev looked at me.
" We have to go."
