Chapter Twenty-Four

Ellie's P.O.V. 

" HELP!" I yelped as I was double tackled by Runners. 

Lev rushed over and took one of them out, leaving me to stick my switchblade in the other one's eye. 

" Are you alright?" He asked me as I tossed the Runner's body off of me. 

" Yeah. Fuck that was a lot of them." 

" Are their still more of them in there." 

" I have no clue, but there're spores in there. I don't want to risk it." 

" Lev?" Yara asked. 

" We're fine." He called back. 

A loud explosion sounding, leading Lev dart back towards Yara and Abby. 

A funel of black smoke started as gunshots rang out. 

" GET THEM!" Someone screamed. 

I opened the spore door and farly followed Lev back to the small camp we had made tempararally. 

" We have to go!" Lev yelled. 

" Not till I raise my friend."

" Abby." 

" Lev, it will be fine." 

" He's right, we have to move." 

" Where are we going to go?" Yara asked. 

" Where I'm holding up. I have the place wired up with traps." 

" Fucking thing... come on." Abby said, slapping the radio. 

" Its not going to work Abby." Lev told her. 

The sound of an engine starting filled the air. 

" Lead the way." Abby exhailed.

" Ellie?" Tommy asked after I tossed  brick into the cement wall. 

I slid through the window, finding him pailer than I left him. 

" Is he dying?" Lev asked. 

" Sever blood loss." 

" Ellie... I can't feel my hand." 

" Can you walk?" 

" I'm to lightheaded too."

" Some people are going to get dead then." I said, starting to add a better scope I had found.

" I'll go with you." Abby said. " That type of truck they have, has a radio." 

" Do we have any of those canned peaches left Yara?" Lev asked as Abby and I went back through the window.  

" Well have to feed him very slowly." Yara responded, the glass bottle she had in her hand breaking. 

Avoiding all of my traps, I headed into the woods while Abby hid behind a chared car. 

A large milatary vehicle stopped, five WLF members getting out. 

" Set up the perimiter fast," A spanish man told them. " Abby and her friends are out here somewhere." 

Abby moved around the car as the WLF began to clear the area, diving under the millatary vehicle easily. 

The five started their way towards me. 

I set up a few mines around and infront of me, then quickly army crawled to a nearby tree, making my way up it as the first bomb went off. 

" Get to cover, she's here!" A male yelled.
