" Exactly how far do we have to go? Ebon asked.

" On foot, it will take yall 287 hours, normally," Jessie noted. " I would probably say, two to three weeks, maybe more. Can't really tell you."

" We only have enough food here to last us two weeks. And this is already rationed pretty tightly." I said, looking through the supply bag Maria had handed out.

" I really hope the infected haven't killed all the wildlife, or at least the city's not barren." Dina exhaled.

" We'll be alright." I told her.

" Tommy and I will be patrolling the edge of the city, closing up the open parts, you, Dina, and Ebon will be heading straight into the city. The few other groups will be on the other side, scouting the towns and counties that are in the same area."

I scribbled everything on the notepad I had while Dina checked our horses.

" Now, we are hoping the not so helpful weather hold off on till you all can get off the mountain, but be prepared just incase."

" I'm sure Jessie has briefed you all by now and your ready to leave, but I wanted to make sure everyone knows the drill. Since Ellie, Ebon, and Dina are going to be passing where Joel and Tommy are, take these with you. It's the last of the rations."

" We'll make sure they get them." Ebon said, taking them.

" I wish you all luck. Stay safe out there, and come back in one piece."

" We will." I told her.

With a worried look on her face, everyone packed up, made sure everything was tied tight, and moved aside as the East gate opened up.

Ebon tightened his grip on me as Japan started up a steep hill, Dina tightening her rains as a reaction.

" To hard?" Ebon asked.

" No."

Japan started shivering halfway up the steep hill.

" I know girl, where almost there, just hand in there."

" We can ask them for some more supplies," Ebon pointed out. " They will give us more."

" We'll ask. Just remind me."

A close by gunshot triggered Japan to jump back, making her lose her balance and fall backwards. Ebon and I rolled down the hillside that Japan had just climbed.

" FUCK!" I yelled as my back hit a tree, feeling something had cracked.

" ELLIE!" Ebon yelled.

I looked to see his hands slipping off the edge he was on.

I quickly crawled over to him, and pulled him up.

" E-ellie." I heard Dina said weekly.

I looked over the area and saw Dina under the unconscious Japan, both of there heads bleeding.

" Just slide Japan off of her." Ebon said, getting on the other side of Japan.

We managed to get Japan off of Dina, but a following gunshot jolted Japan awake.

Startled, she shared freaking out, even bucking at Ebon when he tried to calm her down.

She ran off in the other direction as another gunshot was fired.

" Dina?" I asked her.

" I'm ok." Dina said, sitting up.

" Then lets fucking move."
