Chapter Six

" How the absolute fuck did a Bloater get in here?" I asked as Ness sat a bearing the pain Jake down for a second. 

" Must of let itself in."

" Think it was the one who was killing our animals?" 

" Definitely." 

" We almost out of this hell hole?" Jake asked, fixing his posture.

" Should be. This place only has three floors and we're still on the ground floor."

" I'll check the rooms."

There were along of supplies inside, but not enough food to last us throughout the winter. " Damnit." 

The only other thing found was two dead bodies, and a letter. 

The bodies were Adam and Sidney. 

" Ellie, almost through?" Ness asked. 

" I found those teenagers. There.... yeah. And some supplies." 

" Well, I think I see a window we can get out of. Come on." 

I looked around the room. I couldn't just leave all these supplies alone. 

" I'm gonna have to have ta hang back. Keep an eye on these supplies."

" Are you suicadial? You could be bleeding inside. Besides, did you see the horde that's in here with us. It's fine Ellie." 

" Alright, let's get the fuck outta here..."

" OPEN THE GOD DAMN GATES!" Ness yelled as Shimmer raced for the front gate, Urch, Ness's horse infront of me. " I'VE GOT INJURED!" 

Urch and Smimmer through the gates and Jessie came running towards us. 

" GET MY MOMMA, NOW!" Jessie screamed as Ness helped Jake off his horse. 

" What the hell done that?!" Quill screached. 

" Fucking Bloater." 

" You ok?" Ebon asked, looking up at me. 

I gave him a lookso he helped me down. 

" There evolving." 

That caught everyone off guard. 

" The Bloater came right for me and Jake, not even after Nessa was an inch away from it," I lowred my voice so only Ebon could hear me. " I think it might have knew we were Immune."

Ebon covered his mouth with his finger and helped Jessie take Jake into the branched infirmary. 

I was checked out. Since the fungus was growing around my brain, along with my bones, I didn't have anything serious, just cuts and bruises. 

But Dina was super freaked out. 

Her face was frozen in fear when she saw me. 

" I'm OK babe." 

" The fuck happened." 

Dina cradled my face in her hands, and looked at my neck, some blood coming out of one of the bandages on my neck. 

" A bloater happened. Went straight for Jake and I, but not Nessa. But that's not the weird part. It busted through a wall Dina, tossed me acoss the room..."

Dina got on her tippy toes and kissed my head, then my nose, then we had a deep kiss. 

" Still want to go on our date?" She said under her breath.
