Chapter Three

I went to my room and collapsed onto my bed. Hopefully, I can get enough sleep before my next patrol. 

" Ellie?" Joel asked from the other side of the door, along with a soft tapping noise. " Just thought I'd you know Seth's in holding now. Gonna be counseled to, along with his bigot friends." 

He paused. " Ya know, Dina's gettin' out of the hospital today." 

" Thanks, Joel." 

" Alright." 

The small amount of snow that was left crunched under Joel's feet as he walked away as the rain started to patter on the roof. 

My eyes worked there way to my closet, floating to and stopped on a wrapped gift for Joel, containing a song I wrote for him.

" God, I'm a dork." I said rolling over, closing my eyes.

" Ellie?" Dina's voice said as my door slowly creaked open.

" Yeah?" I said, still half asleep, then jolted forward, seeing Dina shutting the door behind her, a saggy black bennie slumping on her head. 

" Stay there, you don't have to get up." 

" Dina,"

Dina took of her bennie, revealing a shaved area on the left side of her head where a large cut held together with stitches.

She turned her head and noticed I was staring. 

" Sorry!" I said, my eyes darting over to my window, seeing it was now sleeting. 

Dina walked over and set on the bed beside me, then but some of my hair behind my ear. " I don't mind. I kinda dig scars." 

She paused. " That is not your fault. I know that's why you never and came visit me. You are not the one that stupidly sept closer to him knowing he would swing." 

" But I kissed you. I have to take-"

" If that's what you think, then I forgive you." 

I put my hand around the one she had on the side of my head, and started bitting on my lip. 

Dina smiled, and leaned in to kiss me. 

She started slowly, then I started to kiss back. 

" Nope, that's for tonight." Dina said, her breath on my cheak. 

What did she mean? I didn't do anything. 

" Ellie?" 

Dinna broke off our kissing and looked at me.

I felt my hand against cloth and I looked down to see my hand was under her shirt. 

" Sorry." I said, jurking my hand out from under it. " Wait, what do you mean for tonight?" 

" I was thinking we could go to the library and just hang out. Have our first date?" 

" I have an evening patrol, what time was you wanting to have it?" 

" The construction team is wrapping up there work at eight, but there will sill be guards there, but I made a deal with them,so there fucking off to a closer look out."

" Can I just meet you there? I have to pass that area for my patrol." 

" Yeah. I should be there before you." 

I glanced at the clock. I had two more hours before my partol. 

" Hey, can you stay? I think I might sleep better with you here." 

" Ofcourse Ellie." 

Dina laid down and I put my head on her chest and my legs between hers.

I fell asleep pretty fast.

" Hey, El, wake up." Dina whispered in my ear. 

" Mmmmmhh." I groned. 

" Don't make me push you of the bed." 

" Fine." I sat up and winced as my bare feet hit the chilled carpet. 

" Want me to start a shower for you?" 

" Oh, you want to start playing house?" 

" Why not?" 

I turned to her and kissed her. 

I love her.
