A low-pitched manly voice stole their attention.

"Hello son," Mr. Monteras greeted.

They were both astounded.

Samuel's face became pale, his lips turning white as chalk. Samuel stepped back and stood behind Celestine like a frightened kid hiding behind her mother. His right hand rubbed her right shoulder and worked its way to her right hand. He wrapped his hand over hers, asking for comfort. Celestine stroked his fingers to calm him down and to assure him that she's there to help him.

"Who is she,Samuel Jake?" Mr. Monteras asked and looked at Celestine as if she was a prisoner who was just released from jail.

"She's my girlfriend, Dad," Samuel trying his best to reply in his normal voice while his lips are trembling in great shock of seeing his father. He was frightened that his dad heard his 'friends' conversation with Celestine.

"You have a girlfriend? Since when?" Mr. Monteras asked in disbelief.

"I just told you, Dad. She's my girlfriend. You don't need to know when."

"You're joking right?"

"No, Sir. He's telling the truth. He's my boyfriend," Celestine cut in making their holding hands obvious to Mr. Monteras.

Mr. Monteras' mouth dropped open. He stood in roaring silence trying to take in what just happened. Then he patted Samuel's head and stroked Samuel's hair.

A woman barged in interrupting what supposed to be a father-son scene, and Celestine didn't find it difficult to notice the good-looking guy who was with her.

The woman embraced Samuel and Mr. Monteras as if there was no tomorrow. Tears were falling from her eyes, ruining her make-up.

"I'm so glad you two are okay now," she cried.

"Who is she?" Celestine curiously asked the good-looking guy who was then standing beside her.

"She's Mrs. Monteras. Samuel's mom."

"Oh, that's why."

"That's why, what?"

"That's why she's crying." Celestine answered and added, "You're handsome but you're definitely blind."

"I'm handsome? You're gorgeous," he flirtingly said while flashing his sparkling white teeth to Celestine. "Let's go somewhere. Let's leave them alone. It's a family affair," he said, trying to convince Celestine.

"Yes, I think we should but who are you, anyway?"

"I'm Tyler. Samuel's assistant."

"Oh. So you're Samuel's assistant. You were the one who hacked the hospital's database to get my picture, right?"

"What do you mean? I didn't hack anything to steal a picture of a beautiful lady like you."

"It was Jay, the make-up artist. He told me that Samuel showed him a picture of me, and he thinks that you got it for Samuel from the hospital's database."

"You know what, let's go somewhere private. I need to talk to you."

She was so eager to know what he wanted to talk about in private, and so, she followed Tyler and walked with him.

Celestine saw a hedge which was about 3.5 meters high in front of her. It was meters away from where Samuel and his parents were. Tyler told her while they were walking together that there used to be a secret hideout in this garden. Samuel would often ask Tyler to meet up with him in this secret hideout if he ever wanted to talk to him in private. Celestine found out that Tyler wasn't only Samuel's assistant, he was his best and closest friend. He was like a brother to him.

Tyler shoved his hand on the right side pocket of his trousers and pulled out a very old-looking key.

Tyler opened the invisible door which was covered with leaves and crawling vines. Once they got their feet inside, Tyler slowly closed the door.

It was too dark inside. Tyler used the light of his phone to look for the match he used to bury on one of the corners of the hideout. It didn't take him long to see it. He used it on his antique lamp which was on top of a wooden table.

"Sit right there. I just have to make sure no one followed us here," Tyler told Celestine pointing on the classic park bench behind the table.

Celestine, who was so tired and sleepy, didn't have any choice but to obey him despite the fact that she knew that she's with a stranger and that he wasn't that trustworthy.

Celestine saw Tyler pulled out his phone and pressed different numbers using his thumb and one of his fingers. He was talking to someone and as much as she wanted to know who he was talking to and what they're talking about, her eavesdropping powers wouldn't work. He was too far away and he was speaking inaudibly.

"Hey, man. This is Tyler. I'm with Celestine already. What do you want me to do?"

"Good. Just be sure she'll be staying there with you until morning. I'll tell you when to release her," the person on the other line commanded him.

"Don't worry. She'll be safe with me," he promised while a smirk appeared at the corner of his lips.

"Don't you lay any of your fingers on her! I know you!"

"I promise," Tyler said in a joking manner before he hung up the phone.

Samuel, on the other hand, was still with his parents. The event organiser disrupted the moment when she hollered, "I'm so sorry Mr. Monteras but you are needed inside."

"Okay, I'm coming," Mr. Monteras responded before he embraced Samuel for the first time. He kissed Mrs. Monteras' cheeks before he walked inside along with the event organiser and with two other armed bodyguards.

"We need to talk," Mrs. Monteras told Samuel while pressing her thumb on his cheek.

Fu*k. I know what this is about.
