Celestine and Samuel gulped. They made a quick eye to eye contact.
Annie came to sit at the edge of their bed.
"Oh, what happened to you guys?" Annie asked them upon noticing the bandages on their legs and thighs, resting one of her hands on Samuel's exposed knee. Her expression showed an exaggerated concerned look.
Celestine glared at Annie's flirtatious move. Samuel, however, jerked a little. He was caught up in the middle of the two women close to his heart and it made him feel so uncomfortable that he began perspiring.
"Long story," Samuel replied, shifting to a different position.
"Why don't we go outside? I heard that Joseph prepared a fun activity for tonight," Annie invited, pushing her short skirt down as she stood up.
"Okay. We'll be there soon," Samuel told her.
"Okay." Annie turned around and went out the door. Samuel's eyes followed her every step. Celestine's mouth hung low as she spotted how Samuel looked at Annie when she walked away. Her forehead scrunched like her heart inside her body.
"Awww! What was that for?" Samuel shrieked as Celestine spanked him hard on his head.
"For nothing! C'mon let's go! They're probably waiting for us," Celestine snarled at him, her face contorted with jealousy. She sprung out of bed and grabbed her jacket in one of her bags.
"Why are you still sitting? Get your lazy butt up, Mr. Weirdo!"
He responded with a goofy smile.
"What! Why are you smiling?" She asked looking puzzled.
"You're jealous," Samuel's smile broadened.
"No, I'm not! Shut up! Let's go! They're waiting for us!" Celestine shunned deliberately what Samuel had said and exited the room.
