Logan
When Janelle asked me what was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen, it was obvious that the answer was her.
I mean, I couldn't just lie to her and say something else. She really is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen.
With her sparkling brown eyes, her award winning smile, her cascading dark brown hair, and perfect cheek bones. Janelle is beautiful.
When I said my answer, a small blush appeared on her cheeks which made me smile. I've never see Janelle blush before. Her face sure has turned red from yelling at people, but I've never seen her blush.
"Me? I'm the most beautiful thing you've ever seen?" She asked me.
"Y-yeah." I stuttered nervously, afraid of what she might say next.
"Thanks Logan. That's so sweet." She said. I smiled at her and her blush became heavier. "Okay, you can ask your question now." She said.
"Okay. #2..." I can't believe I'm about to ask this question, but I have to. I want to. "#2...uh."
Janelle laughed. "Just ask the question, Logan." She said.
"#2: do you...wanna go out with me?" I asked.
Janelle paused at my question and looked into my eyes. She looked shocked. Oh no, she's probably about to say no. I thought to myself. Just face the facts, she's about to say no.
"Of course I'll go out with you Logan." She reached her arms out and gave me hug.
Oh my gosh...what a relief. She actually said yes. I hugged Janelle back and we sat there hugging until I heard a honk. "Oh, that's my aunt. I gotta go. See you at school tomorrow." I smiled at Janelle and got off the couch.
"Bye Logan." She got up and kissed me on the cheek. My skin instantly heated up from that. She just kissed me on the cheek. "Oh...maybe I shouldn't have done that..." She said, with an embarrassed face expression.
I laughed and kissed her on the cheek back in response. "Bye." I walked out of the house and outside.
The cold wind hit my skin and I ran to my aunts car. I got in the passenger seat. My aunt smiled at me. "Hi sweetie. How was it?" She asked.
"It was good." I said.
I saw out of the corner of my eye that my aunt was staring at me and smiling at me. "Oh Logan, you look just like your mother." She said.
I paused and my heart sank in my chest as she mentioned my mother. We rarely talking about my parents. My aunt and uncle knew I didn't like talking about it. "Yeah." I agreed, and turning to look out the window.
"You know, she and your father would be so proud to see you grow into the sound man you are now. They would be so hap-"
I interrupted my aunt before she could finish her sentence. "Can we please just...change the subject." I said.
My aunt looked down. "I'm sorry Logan. I know it's hard for you." She said.
"It's okay, just drive home please." I said.
My aunt nodded and backed out of the driveway and drove home.
I looked out of the window the entire ride home, not saying another word.
{flashback}
"Logan, put your coat on. It's really windy and rainy outside." My mom told me. I put my rain coat on and hopped in the back seat of the car.
