I walked out of Logan's house, feeling as if a big weight was lifted off of my shoulders. I don't think Logan was too mad about it. He actually seemed really understanding. That's what I love so much about him.
I can't believe I decided to do this, but this is what I think is right for me. I walked down the street to get to my destination and a couple minutes later, I arrived at the house.
Now that I talked with Logan, I'm not going to feel guilty about this.
I knocked on Logan's front door, my heart pounding nervously. What if he gets mad? I asked myself. I like him, but I think I have to do this.
A couple seconds later, Logan's grandma opened the door. She gave me a warm smile. She wiped her hands on the apron she was wearing. "Hey sweetie. Logan's upstairs in his room." She said, moving to the side so I could come in the house.
I smiled at her. "Thanks." I walked up the carpeted stairs and down the hallway, and knocked softly on Logan's bedroom door.
"Come in." He said. I slowly walked in the room. Logan was sitting on his bed with his chemistry textbook open. "Hey," said smiling at me. I walked over to him and sat on the edge of his bed. He wanted forward to kiss me but I turned my head to the side. He looked at me. "What's wrong?"
"I need to talk to you about something." I told him.
"Okay." Logan gave me his full attention as I began to speak.
"Um, Logan, you are like so amazing, and I really like you...but I just feel like-"
"You're breaking up with me?" He asked, his tone not mad.
"I'm sorry. It's a long, complicated story...but I mean it when I say that you're amazing and really nice and cool and fun to be around. But something between us doesn't feel...right." I said, my voice a little shaky at the end. "Please don't be mad."
Logan gave me a weak smile. "How could I be mad? Look Janelle, I really like you, but if you want to break up, then we should. What kind of guy would I be otherwise." Logan shrugged his shoulders and smiled.
I hugged Logan for being to calm about to situation. "Thanks. So...Friends?"
"Friends." We hugged one more time heifer we said our goodbyes and I left.
•Now•
Now I stood outside of Jaden's front door, taking a deep breath. What am I getting myself into? I asked myself.
Seconds later, Jaden appeared at the door. He was wearing a blue shirt with the Jordan logo on it and some black jeans. His hair was messy in the usually cute way. "Oh Janelle, uh, thanks for coming to the funeral, and I'm sorry for everything. You can just forget about-"
Interrupting Jaden, I grabbed both of his shoulders and connected my lips with his. Without even hesitating, Jaden molded his lips on mine and let his hands rummage through my hair. I wrapped my arms around his neck and he backed into the house, our lips still connected. He closed the front door with his foot.
I pulled my face away from his lips. "Where did that come from?" Jaden asked, taking breaths in between words.
"I broke up with Logan." I said.
"So you decided to come here and kiss me?" He asked curiously, raising an eyebrow.
"Um...I uh..."
"You what?"
"I uh..."
"You what?" Jaden repeated, obviously trying to make me spit out some choice words.
"Jaden, I don't want someone who's perfect. Logan is perfect. You aren't. W-when you touch me, my skin like, burns uncontrollably. When you kiss me, my body goes through this stage when it's hard for me to think. I've never had that feeling with...anyone." I said.
"So that means..." He trailed off.
I rolled my eyes. "I have feeling for you."
He smiled. "That's all I needed to hear."
Jaden lowered his face and connected his lips on mine. I pulled my face away from him. "Why are we doing this? Aren't your parents in the house?"
Jaden grabbed my waist and lowered his head to travel kisses down my neck. "Nope...they...went...on another...business trip. He said in between kissing my neck.
I laughed. "Stop, you're going to give me a hickey or something."
Jaden laughed and shook his head. "Come on." He grabbed me by the wrist and pulled me upstairs. He opened the door to his room and he sat on his bed.
I climbed on his king sized bed and sat across from him and crisscrossed my legs. I shrugged my shoulders, not knowing what to do. "So...were gonna be seniors next year." I mentioned. "Where are you thinking about going to college?" I asked him curiously.
He sighed and looked down at his hands. "I don't really know."
"Well, what do you wanna be with you get older?" I asked him.
He shook his head. "I don't know." I looked at Jaden. It looked like he was upset that he didn't have his future planned out. "What do you wanna be?"
"Well, after high school I wanna go to nursing school and become a registered nurse."
"Must be nice to have your future planned out like that." He said.
"You've never thought about what you wanna do when you get out of school?" I asked.
"No."
"Doesn't that scare you?"
"I guess so." He said. "It's just, no one's ever encourage me to think about my future."
I nodded. Maybe Jaden would have his future together later. He's already rich anyway. He doesn't need to work for his money. Taking the subject off my mind, I spoke. "So what do we do now?" I asked.
"This..." He leaned in and crashed his lips onto mine. My skin heated up like it always did when he kissed me and my heart pounded out of control.
